Has anyone tried this product?? You make your own soda , or pop, as we call it...
...anyway, at Kohls they say they can hardly keep them on the shelves....

...so, if you have one or know someone who has one, thumbs up or down??

They did a taste test with regular pop vs Soda Stream on CNBC the other day. Soda Stream won.

I LOVE my SodaStream. But I don't really use the soda flavorings, I mostly just drink the carbonated water with a little slice of lemon or lime.

Any deals?? I know it retails for 99.00, and I have seen it at Kohls and bed, bath and beyond. I can get 20% off at BBB, or wait for a sale at Kohls.

I would love one of these, but I can't quite justify the cost! We would be using it for carbonated water, too.

Check out the sales at JCPenney, Karen. They had it for a really good price a while back, and they have coupon deals that should make it even better.

My parents had something like that many decades ago.

If it's $99 at Kohl's, you may want to wait not only for a sale, but till you have a 30% off certificate and they are doing the bonus rewards at the same time. That happens pretty frequently.

It also may be worth calculating the cost per liter of the cartridges. I did that a few years ago and it wasn't worth it to me compared to store-brand 2-liter seltzer.

I drink a LOT of plain (or lightly flavored unsweetened) seltzer water, which has been going up and up in price, so I finally got one at Kohl's. It took a few tries to get a fizzy bottle, but have the hang of it now. I'm trying to keep track of the number of bottles I get from a cartridge to see if it actually is cost-effective -- I certainly hope so! Of course, then they'll start raising the cost of the refill cartridges I suppose. It's nice to cut down on the bottle storage and recycling (and waste).

We have the Penquin version of this product, bought it from Williams Sonoma. Love it! But we don't do the soda mixes just use it for sparkling water. Saves us a bundle to not buy Perrier any longer. I make my own blended mix using fresh fruit (usually blueberries) that I liquify in the blender first then mix in with the fizzy water, add a splash of lemon juice and a touch of sugar. Sometimes I mix the water with a concentrated lemonade.

We've had one for over a year now and love it. We never use it for soda, only for the carbonated water. Before purchasing this, we would buy the water in six packs of bottles, so we were always carrying bottles in, and then recycling all the plastic. Our tap water tastes fine, so it works well to make our own carbonated water. We started drinking "fizzy" water when we lived in Europe and just enjoy it.

In our area, it is difficult to find places to purchase the refill tanks of air, so we just order them online from SodaStream. (We can often find an online coupon.) The tanks can't be shipped via traditional UPS, etc., so a service delivers them to our door and picks up the empty canisters. As part of the purchase, you're required to return the empties. I think I have now noticed the tanks at Bed Bath & Beyond, but ordering online is convenient and we order 2 at a time.

For us, it was a great purchase.

We too use it for sparkling water. Sometimes we do the soda, but mostly sparkling water for dinner. :)

We've had one for over 6 months now and it's great not having to lug all the bottles from the supermarket - we exchange our used up cartridge at Bed, Bath and Bey. for $15 and also use the $5 off or $20% coupon on top of that, so approx. $10 - $12 per cartridge. I'm not sure if Kohls has the refill program.

What about the flavors?? We use diet, so I am wondering about the cola and rootbeer varieties.

Diet cream soda is good. Diet pete's choice is good. Diet cranberry-raspberry is very good. Diet root beer not quite as good as the cream soda.

Diet cola isn't very good.

Thumbs Up!

We've had ours about two years. We mostly make our own carbonated water with fresh lime or lemon, but hubby loves their tonic water concentrate and I'm a fan of their cream soda flavor. Way better than store-bought brands with all that sugar and/or corn syrup...you can control sweetness and heavy flavoring by using just a bit of their concentrate to give the seltzer water some zip. Go for it...it's worth it!

Well, I am about 2 months into the Soda Stream, and we are quite pleased.

Does anyone have a ballpark figure on how many bottles of soda before the cartridge quits??

And anyone try the Mywater? So far, we tried the raspberry and it is not good. We like all the diet flavors we have tried.

We love ours! Use it for carbonated water and all soft drinks - diet and regular. All have been comparable to the real thing. Really cuts down on the cans and bottles. At B B & Beyond you can trade in the used cartridges for a discount on new ones.

Mine is only one month old but I love it. Got it at Bed Bath and Beyond for $99 less 20% with their coupon. Sig-up on-line and get one immediately. Refill exchanges for the catridges are $14.95 (less 20% if you have another coupon). Sixty liters for $14.95 is cheaper and easier than lugging home bottled soda or sparkling water.

Bed Bath and Beyond honors coupons beyond the expiration date, so I keep a handful of their coupons available. They also accept competitor's coupons.

I am considering this thing for us. We love diet cream soda and cannot get any brand near Denver, and I see they have that flavor, so I am going to buy one with my 30% off coupon, if Kohl's still even has the thing.

You should have at least two bottles, maybe even more. Give the diet cranberry raspberry a try.

What's with Denver, sarsaparilla only?

Can you make soda out of fruit juices instead of water? It would be neat to create sparkling cranberry juice....

I would bet you can.

It's rather comical because we go to Orlando, and not only do they have diet cream soda (Mug brand), but they even have caffeine-free diet Mountain Dew. You cannot get anything but Coke and Pepsi that's caffeine-free here. It's ridiculous.

I won't drink sugary sodas because I enjoy a low-carb lifestyle. Not that any lifestyle should include sugar.

Pour in the cranberry juice, carbonate, drink. Should work. Most cranberry juice nowadays is rather thin.

They don't recommend using anything but water. You could carbonate water and then add to cranberry juice. I usually add water to my juices anyway, I find them too sweet.
