In unsolicited call from salesman, who first qualified us - we had 40k points that were not going to expire for two more years. His offer - $749 "lifetime" fee, he would then list a 2bdrm TS for $3600 (or a 1bdrm for $3200), we would give up 40K of our unused points for the year and get 100% of $3600 as a bank draft cashier's check in mail after renters were secured.

This offer does not guarantee a renter or an annual $3600 payment. We haven't used our points this year, may not next year, and the idea of having a renter sounds financially feasible.

Has anyone worked with this company and was it beneficial?

Any company that charges an upfront fee to rent or sell your timeshares is a SCAM! DON'T DO IT!

Think about it - once they have your money, why bother to do anything?

This is a common scam that we hear about every day on TUG (see the link in red under my name.)

LEGITIMATE rental agents take their commission out of the proceeds of the rental - not upfront.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion.

My uncle worked with a company that was able to not only do what they say but in addition to that also help him recover over 5,000.00$ from another company called goldline something or other. (True story people) I read that over 30 companies have been shut down by the attorney general as of lately. I would assume that most companies that are licensed, bonded, insured and still in business would be very reputible now that some of the rif raff has been put in the right place.

I'll tell you this much i have dealt with good people in life I thought were bad and bad that I thought were good. Like I said everyone has an opinion. I am in sales and work in the hotel business dealing with people all week. Most people that are upset did not understand the terms and conditions going into the deal the day they did it. Asking the right questions and listening are the most important things in doing business outside of knowing who your dealing with.

I'd hate to defame a company or individual just because someone else's scenario did not play out the way they wanted. I've learned in ten years of dealing with people that just as many good people exist as bad ones out there. Very few people on the internet have dealt with the person or company in question most of the time and are either passing along here-say or categorizing in my OPINION.

Right Price Point Property, looks good to me!
If you want something rented or sold I guess it would have to be at the right Price, crafty very crafty:rolleyes:

YOU are a scammer. This is a shill post, and you are not telling the truth. This is a website for people who like timeshare, not for people who steal from seniors who fall for your malarky.

Cindy,

You are probably correct. "lulo239" has been here using a different name in the past although he did not post at that time.

With only two posts to his credit and both involving timeshare related businesses it is not too hard to figure out that "lulo239" is a poster that is trying to justify his business practices while pointing a finger at the other guys who have already been put out of business.

Consider, that just thirty-two minutes prior to his posting above he had visted TUGBBB - Ratings of Timeshare Related Businesses and specifically looked up the name of his possible competitor [Timeshare Goldline] to check out the status of that particular company.

It is interesting that just thirty minutes later he would forget what the name of that company was by saying:

My uncle worked with a company that was able to not only do what they say but in addition to that also help him recover over 5,000.00$ from another company called goldline something or other.

Anyone who cares to read further...

:wall: I said Goldline something because they changed there name several times and showed up under several different addresses.I dont have the time to follow there history...Excuse me! I have a job woooorking in the industry at a Hotel. Btw I am a timeshare owner at two different properties and last time I checked this is the timeshare user group. I set up a membership and the fist time I go on and spend more then a minute here I get attacked and a bunch of poor treatment from people with alot of time on there hands. I almost feel as this $15 was possibly a waste since the only info I have recieved has been what you have read so far. You people need a vacation !!! Do you want to borrow some points.???

U wouldnt know the truth if it hit u in the face...

YOU are a scammer. This is a shill post, and you are not telling the truth. This is a website for people who like timeshare, not for people who steal from seniors who fall for your malarky.

Thats where you have it all wrong I like my timeshare!!! Now RCI on the other hand maybe a different story@ times.
Feel free to read my response....any further posts i may put up you may not like either..... so spend your time reading others or do something with your time constructive. Better yet go take another tour and let your points expire because you spend all your time on here...making false accusations!

lulo239 - Here are a few things that damage your credibility:

You have registered with TUG under 2 completely different user names.

In your very first post, you promoted an upfront fee "recovery" company, then, in the same thread you promoted another upfront fee company.

The company that "looks good to you" has only been in business since Feb. 14 - not even 4 mos.

We hear claims from up-front fee companies every single day on TUG, and we've never heard of one that was Legit - not once.

Its obviously been awhile since you set up your membership???

As a lifetime member or whatever you consider yourself maybe its been awhile. For the record It is next to impossible to even set your self up on this site. Between tug and the forum and the bbs and the threads and posts etc. Which is why it took me twenty tries to get it right the heck with two. My name should show up a hundered times for all the aggravation in using this website. You want to moderate? Why dont you make the capabilities for the user a little more friendly in your spare time. I know plenty of people who work in the hotel business as well as resorts and I have not one bad expercience to think of. Now we've all had our own bad buying experience but it doesnt seem fair to link every person from every business to that experience. I wouldnt live my life that way based purely upon assunptions LMK how it plays out fior ya. As far as credibility goes I wasn't looking for any Im happy with my current status. "Be true to thine own self"....

Here is one more amazing coincidence - your IP address shows me that you are posting from the same area where the referenced business is located.

Also - ARDA lists Brandon Booth as the owner of this business, which is remarkably similar to your email address.

Quite Literal and way to analytical.

Wrong again...I once again will mention I work for a group of hotels you might have heard of them it starts with a H and end s in a T. I happen to be traveling for work and I have this really cool card I can plug into my handy dandy laptop it gives me a connection anywhere I go. If you check it next weekend I'll be in South Fla where i have a home. I also own a house in Orlando where it seems alot of companies are located. If you check my connection again in another few weeks I'll be some where else...Lol you people are funny. BTW did you know that the url u refer to will always show where it was initiated from. Also that you cannot use the same email for your TUG membership and the bbs one so I asked a friend to use his. Listen If you, rick, cindy, goofy, or anyone else have some or any useful information to give me feel free to contact me outside of that go bother someone else.

Brandon - Here is a simple question: If you are not affiated with RTP Property, and you haven't used them yourself, why in the world would you come on TUG and recommend them?

Either you are a shill - or you recommend companies that you know nothing about - take your pick.

Also that you cannot use the same email for your TUG membership and the bbs one so I asked a friend to use his.
This is not true.... or believable... Brandon

It just gets better and better - Now Brandon has changed the email address that he registered with TUG!

You come here with no history

and tout an upfront fee rental company that by the very nature of getting $3600 for 40k in annual points is at least stretching the truth beyond the breaking point. Then you ramble on about your uncle, and never do mention the name of this miracle company, unless the bottom ( now in bold is what you are trying to promote.

Then you start bit****g about some of our long time members about how their opinion is wrong, :hysterical: well, you have done yourself and this Right Price Point Property, looks good to me! absolutely no favors.
This will be my one and only post to you as I refuse to get into a battle of wits with an unarmed individual.:wall:

fwiw,

Greg

So glad I found this forum!

You all just saved me some money and heartache! I was feeling a wee bit scammed about this RTP Property, LLC, aka Right Price Point Property myself when I get a call out of the blue, from someone I didn't know, wanting to set me up for $750.00 (one time documentation fee) and sell my points for $1500 - $1800 a week. I even asked for a reference...name and phone number DID NOT check out correctly. However, looks like your conservative opinions just helped me make a decision NOT to "pay up front fees." Here's a HUGE thank you to all you smart, wonderful people!

Noelani

I too have been on the telephone with the RTP folks, looked at their site, checked out the BBB (they have a "B" rating), Googled them, etc. They want a one-time $750 to register a "lifetime" membership and then, after the contract has been signed, to start marketing our points (100,000+). They have told me the Orlando area will most certainly produce enough exposure to my points to generate $1500-$1800 for each 20,000 points. What a deal!!! I continue to be wary. Does anyone know of anyone who has actually took them up on their offer and it worked out as they said?

Read the posts above yours - this is a group you DO NOT want to deal with. It is at best a poor deal - at worst a total rip off. Either way it is best avoided. Save your money.

This offer does not guarantee a renter or an annual $3600 payment.

This is obviously a variation on the numerous schemes that have been out there for years. They lead you to believe that by agreeing to use their vaguely defined "services" you will obtain unrealistically high prices for the rental or sale of your timeshare. If they could do that for you, they should take a commission only after they consummate a deal for you.

Our motto here at TUG is to never pay an up-front fee, especially to a company that states in writing that there is no guarantee that they will be able to find a renter or buyer for you. Would you pay a Realtor a fee to market and sell your home BEFORE the realator found a buyer and all parties had signed the necessary legal documents, and paid all monies due? I don't think so!

Almost every company like the one you are inquiring about will state in the "fine print" that you are only paying them to "market" your unit, usually on some obscure website that receives very little traffic.

It's easy to place your own rental ads at websites such as TUG (see the TUG MarketPlace) and www.redweek.com and www.myresortnetwork,com

Read the general advice sections on TUG at the top of each Forum--in this case the Buying, Selling, Renting Forum.

There are so many kind, helpful, experienced, knowledgeable people here at TUG that will be glad to help you without any financial or ulterior motive. We were all "newbies" at one time and we learned the ropes from the advice and experience of others.

What type of Points do you own? There are separate Forums here at TUG for most of the major companies e.g. Marriott, Wyndham Fairfield, Hilton, Disney, etc...

Good luck and Welcome!

RCI points....life has changed for us at the present time. We have a very difficult time using our points, so options to market them are attractive. But, we will not pay anyone to market...

Thanks you all. Glad I did some research before doing business with Right Price. I guess old adage applies; "if it sounds too good to be true it probably is."

RTP

I am a total noob here and to time share and renting time shares. I was called by RTP Property just now actually. They are offering to sell my points of 40k for around 3-4k with an up front lifetime fee of around $700. I am obviously a bit reluctant since that is so much money up front and there guarantee is just in paper, but that does not bring any confidence for me since they could easily charge me then just disappear. I read the posts here and it seems to me it is a scam. I also went to the BBB website to see if I could fine their company and I cannot seem to find them. This only solidifies my gut reaction to RTP Property.

Weirdly in the email they sent me they had links to different websites toting their company. Interestingly 3 of the 4 links do not even show this company. I will share the links they posted:

I am a bit unsure about these guys. I paid $500 about 5-6 months ago and have not gotten 1 hit.

Pros:

They have a good rating still with the BBB (listed as Right Price Point Properties).

They are good at maintaining communication. Up until mid June they were sending me emails updating me on the status of my account. The last contact was mid June when they told me they would be advertising my "property" at the upcoming July trade shows.

Cons: I listed 6 weeks worth of points with them and they have not gotten me a single hit yet. This has me really concerned - their "guarantee" is not that great either. Out of the $500 they claim $350 is paid out for various things and is non refundable. I can only get $150 of my money back if they fail to sell.

The only thing that keeps me hoping is their good rating with the BBB. We shall see.
