[2011] Problems with flagging on Orlando Craigslist [merged]

I did some research on the (unhelpful) CL Help Forum, and one suggestion made was to post it under a different heading - Services -> Travel/Vac, instead of Housing->Vacation Rentals, so I am going to try that.

Did moving it over to another category help?

I agree, we should start an email campaign. I've been trying to rent my Disney Vacation Club resorts for a long time and they are always flagged.

I haven't posted for rent ads but I sometimes have my timeshare for sale ads flagged and deleted.

I found that if you put the name timeshare in the ad it has a better chance of being flagged than if you don't use that word. Definitely don't put it in the title.

Writing to CL or going on their forum about flagging is no help. The folks there are adamant that timeshares are scams and they flag all they see.

I got Craig of Craigslist's email. It is craig@craiglist.com. I sent an email to him yesterday and he said he would forward it to his team. I hope that he does correct the problem.

How much of the Craigslist emails that you get on your ad are real?
I listed in three cities. Of course my Orlando one got shot down by flaggers. But I had the exact email on both ads. And it seems like the names in the email body don't match the name in the address.

You get what you pay for on Craigslist, any time I use it the crooks, flakes, lowballers and spammers outnumber interested people by 5 to 1. I use the delete key a lot on the responses.

Be careful what you tell Craig in your email to him. His rules are that you can only post one ad total for any one item. Posting the same thing in more than one city is a violation of his Terms Of Use.

The spam and scam emails have been easy to spot for me so far.
