[ 2011 ] Appliance question: what's a good potato grinder?

Does it look like this?
SA005SCSaladmasterMachineview2.jpg

If so, that's a Saladmaster machine. Lots of elbow work, but effective! They also sell pots & pans.

Nope, it's a big beige electric thing with a blender attachment and a stand mixer attachment and--hmm, I think I didn't get the sausage maker attachment. It's kind of a KitchenAid mixer knockoff, but a different shape. It's called the Supertron 6000 or something like that. A silly futuristic name. I got it at a builder's home show in about 1985.

Another option is the Presto Salad Shooter which is similar to the Salad Master.
I've had one for years and use it to grate cheese and slice potatoes for scalloped pototoes. One of the "cones" is a grater. You can find one on Amazon.

Please note that this is a 2011 thread who was brought out of mothballs by a potato shredder spammer, promoting a $400 model - I kid you not! :D

(Their post was right before itchy feet's post and has been deleted.)
