I just received this email from Marriott inviting meet to trade my Marriott week(s) in for proceeds toward the Ritz_ Carlton Destination Club.

As a valued Marriott Vacation Club® Owner, we are pleased to extend you an exclusive invitation. For a limited time, you have a unique opportunity to trade your existing Marriott Vacation Club week(s) in exchange for proceeds toward enrollment as a Member of The Ritz-Carlton® Destination Club.

Experience customized, deeded fractional real estate combined with privileged access to 10 Club locations1 and more than 70 Ritz-Carlton hotels and resorts worldwide2. Simply choose where and when you want to go and which type of Club residence you desire. Whether a 3-day romantic getaway in one-bedroom accommodations in downtown San Francisco or a 10-day family escape to The Bahamas in a four-bedroom home, the choice is yours.

Take your first steps toward Membership today by contacting a Membership Advisor at 866.690.3823 and mention VIP code RCDC**** to learn more.

I received the same email and am interested in learning more. Could this be the Internal Point system program that has been discussed? This could bypass many of the problems that have been discussed regarding an MVC point system.

No. The Ritz is Marriott's high end fractional ownership / destination club hybrid. PerryM was raving about it only a couple of months ago after sitting through a presentation.

Are you going to contact them Terry?

See how many bags of $$$+ your weeks will get you?

'opportunity to trade your existing Marriott Vacation Club week(s) in exchange for proceeds toward enrollment as a Member of The Ritz-Carlton® Destination Club.'

This statement caught my attention. Are they referring to an opportunity to trade weeks in an individual year or the full ownership of an MVC week? How much is the enrollment?

Very, very pricey. That's all you need to know. It's out of my ballpark.

Here's one in Florida for only $195K with annual dues of about $21K for FIVE weeks.

Here's one in San Francisco at $100K (reserve not met) with annual dues of only $14K for THREE weeks.

You have to pay to play. :D

That one in FL is not bad, from a price and dues standpoint for the number of weeks you get.

We've looked in the past at fractionals, just started again(for N. Michigan). If I wanted to home school my kids it may work.

I got one also...I guess they are also interested in those who didn't purchase directly from Marriott.

The pricing is a little out of my range (unless someone pays for my two daughters in college), but the two membership type options are intriquing. Could the Portfolio Membership option be a precursor of the upcoming changes in MVC?

I purchased one in San Francisco back in 2007 for $235,000.00 with annual dues of $18,000.00 for 3 weeks. I'm giving it back for free to avoid life time membership as a settlement agreement which Ritz-Carlton is offering its members to deed-back their property back to them for free. Even Ritz Carlton sees no value in it.
The worst investment decision of my life time.
Do you still think you have to pay to play?
Sometimes it's best to save your losses by walking away.
Buyers be aware.
