I apologize for the delay. I had to take an important call while I was typing.
Good to know. I'll ask to speak to them directly the next time I call. However, since I'm here, I'd like to take you up on your offer to answer generic questions. Thank you.
I want to sell two timeshares, one upper and one lower. I'd like to get the concrete information on what type of fees need to be paid by the seller. For example, the final version of the fee list that I was given over the phone is:
1. Flat agent's fee (to sell the timeshare, similar to an agent's commission). $300;
2. Resort release fee (The resort says there is no such fee). $300;
3. Membership fee (to get in and stay in the system forever, which I won't need once I sell). $399 ($300 covers the membership; $99 covers the costs to list the timeshare on other websites and various locations);
4. Attorney fee (to transfer the deeds' titles). Approximately $350, as per attorney;
5. Quarterly fee (to continue to list the timeshares per quarter of the year). $0 (waived for me);
During and after that conversation specific discrepancies occurred, which made me suspicious like the original, 2006 post describes. I felt uncomfortable, like I was on a used car lot. The dollar amounts and their descriptions kept changing. I was recommended to NTHC by the Rockingham Chamber of Commerce, which gave me confidence in their service. However, my conversation with NTHC gave me much pause. The specific discrepancies can be discussed with the owners if I call back. Thank you.
