2 bed deluxe at Grand Chateau

Yes it does, but it’s not a stand alone 2 bedroom deluxe unit that can be purchased individually. Those units can only be purchased as part of the 3 bedroom unit. The thread started off because someone was looking at a 2 bedroom “deluxe” unit for sale
Yes I have verified with the Front Desk. I have pics of the villa configurations. There are no stand alone 2 bedrooms without a lock off. There are the usual 3 BR with a lock off. The 3BR when locked out becomes a 2 BR.

Give me a few minutes and I will load the photos the Front Desk was kind enough to let me snap with those codes.

The question is if the resort has a dedicated 2BR unit that is not part of a lockoff?

The Marriott website indicates that there are 3 different 2-bedroom configurations at the resort:

Standard 2-bedroom lockoff- unit code ZZAA
2-bedroom unit (part of the 3BR lockoff)- unit code THMV
2-bedroom dedicated unit- unit code TOVI

So does that last one actually exist at the resort?

So don't see a TOVI. Did not get into these codes with the Front Desk. Just asked if there was a dedicated 2-bedroom unit. Then this book appeared and he was accommodating and let me take photos.
Figured I could translate the codes after the fact.

There has been a constant flow of check-ins and check-outs since we arrived.
@jwalk03 if your heart desires I will ask again about unit code TOVI.

Once again proof positive that owner experience is better than Marriott’s own web site. TUG was created because timeshare companies are often inaccurate in their descriptions or websites. TIG is here to combine knowledge of owners direct experiences, not timeshare mumbo jumbo.

The entire reason I started posting photo albums and now YouTube videos is to give timeshare users a better idea of how units and timeshare resorts actually look. I was frustrated by the timeshare managements own websites, which are often inaccurate or outdated. Combined with Cliff”s Timeshare Traveler and Jeremy’s Destination Timeshare there’s a lot of actual footage of a variety of timeshare resorts

As to the original poster looking at the 2 bedroom “deluxe” unit for sale. Either they’re trying to make the add look better or they have the misguided belief they can split a 3 bedroom deed in two and sell just the master suite.

Thanks @dougp26364 for reminding me about your YouTube content. I had started to look into the HGVC that is high above the Grand Chateau. Now I do realize the name is Elara and I see your video on your channel!

When Westgate built that timeshare, we were envious, but I wasn’t about to attend a Westgate presentation, let alone buy in. When Westgate lost the resort to Hilton it was one of the happier days we’ve had as HGVC owners. While I still love Grand Chateau, I prefer Elara if only for the fact it’s attached to PH. The two bedroom master of the four bedroom lock-off at Elara on the strip end has an absolutely spectacular master bedroom.

Thank goodness!!! Thanks for checking. I just bought a resale 2 bedroom lockoff for trading and I did not want to ever end up with a standard.

I am clueless on that section of Las Vegas timeshare history. I will have to search the archives to read up on this Westgate saga. Heck I was staring at that building for 3 days before I realized the name was Elara.

Some of the units are still owned by Westgate, trade in II as Westgate and remain within the Westgate system. It’s something of an unusual situation

@jwalk03 if your heart desires I will ask again about unit code TOVI.

Thank you very much for confirming! If you have a chance and want to ask them why the TOVI code is listed on the hotel website great- but either way, appreciate your efforts to ask already!!

After dinner the check in desk was empty so I asked. The nice lady knew exactly what I was asking.
She explained that TOVI indicates any 2 bedroom in Tower 2.

Hope that helps  .

Interesting thread and thanks to all who added their input. I was the OP and I agree with the conclusion that the 2 BED “deluxe” isn’t really an accurate designation. Likely it was added to make the ad more appealing. We own a 2 BR at Grande chateau EOY. It was our initial purchase in MVC and we don’t remember any deluxe unit being offered so when I was looking at this resale offer I was confused by what it meant. We didn’t proceed with the resale.

We are looking at a resale purchase at MVC Grand Chateau for a 2 BR EOY even. In looking at ROFR.net I am seeing entries that state "2 bedroom deluxe." We already own a 2 BR EOY odd and I've never been aware of the fact that there are standard and deluxe 2 BR villas. What's the difference?
Also, are all villas lock offs at Grand Chateau?
Thanks!
I found this when looking through deeds conveyed to the MVC Trust for @Fasttr thread. There certainly are two types of 2BR units. Perhaps they call Tower 2 two bedroom units "Deluxe"? Here is a link to the full conveyance document.

I’m pretty certain the deluxe is the 2 bedroom master suite of the 3 bedroom unit.
But if they never sold those as deeded weeks, they wouldn't be conveying them to the trust. They do have conveyances for the full 3BR.

Honestly, I don’t know where this all started. I do know that I’ve never seen a deluxe 2 bedroom unit available to book using Abound points and there’s no points table to book them online. That indicates to me they don’t exist. Having owned at this resort for nearly 20 years a deluxe unit has never been mentioned as an option for purchase. Even the front desk will tell you there isn’t such a unit.

There were plans to make tower 3 units more luxurious since they wouldn’t have a strip view. The thought was no one would want to have a none strip view and they’d need to upgrade them to make them more attractive for sales. This was the story told to us by a salesman when tower 2 was supposedly nearing sell out. This plan was prior to the Abound program and was likely abandoned since tower 3 was built post DC/Abound and deeds weren’t being sold.

There was a similar thought process at Ocean Pointe. Initially sales was trying to sell Kingfish as an exclusive building where you’d have to have a Kingfish deed to stay in Kingfish. At least that’s how sales approached us many years ago. Was it made up sales propaganda or was it the truth? I don’t have that answer but I can say I heard that sales pitch as well as the sales pitch that tower three at Grand Chateau would have “upgraded” units and only tower three owners would have access to those units.

They certainly exist and they aren't the 2BR side of the 3BR. However, we don't know if the 2BR deluxe is any different than a 2BR standard in terms of physical layout. They could be one in the same with just a different name.

I do see that the 2BR Standard is in Phase 1, Parcel A where the 2BR Deluxe is in Phase 2, Parcel B.

I also see 2BR Standard in Phase 2, Parcel B but there are no 2BR Deluxe in Phase 1, Parcel A.

Whatever Phase 1 is, it only has the standard but Phase 2 has both types.
