1st time to Miami or FL

Sheraton Vistana Resort
We own at Vistana Resort and have been coming in September/October for the past 10 years.

We are going to split our time this October by spending our 1st week in Miami or FL and the 2nd at our unit in Vistana.

We've had a quick browse around the reviews and the Marriott's BeachPlace Towers seems to come out best for our needs - 5 adults/2 children [9 & 11].

Can anyone suggest other alternatives for our stay?

We will fly into Miami/FL and return to Glasgow from MCO.

All advice welcomed.

Thanks for the reply George - it looks our favourite at the moment :whoopie:

Unfortunately, nothing is showing up in any of our searches on II.
We have to fly Glasgow-Newark-Miami and return MCO-Newark-Glasgow and need to book our flights within the next couple of weeks.
If we can't get to FL we'll stick to the tried and trusted 2 weeks in Lake Buena Vista :)

We've only ever swapped our Vistana weeks for alternative dates within Vistana itself - we love the place so much -
so we are not clued up on the best way to search the system.

I'll get over to the Exchanging forum for ideas on how to get a better angle at doing the exchange.

As Vistana owners, you could split your time between Orlando and the Vistana Beach Club in Jensen Beach. It's not as interesting as FL or Miami, but if it's beach time you want, that's a way to do it without going thru RCI. Vistana Reservations can book both places for you.
 
Thanks for the heads up on Jensen Beach - nice looking place, but it's not so much the beach we're after -
we've never been to Miami and the MBPT would give us a good base to see both Fort L & Miami.

Ft Lauderdale Beach Resort

Another resort is the VRI managed Ft Lauderdale Beach Resort - it is 4 blocks north of the MBPT in Ft Lauderdale, just off A1A. It has 2 Bdr/2bath which has a Murphy bed (double) and a queen sofa in LR and a king in each BDR.

It is both a II and RCI Points resort.
