168K Biennial Even contract

I picked up a 168k biennial even contract. For this year they deposited 84k.
My ownership summary shows

Use Year End Date Contract Type NPoints
December 31/2016 UDI ALTERNATE YEAR EVEN 84,000


Do they issue 84k each year ?

I thought I would get all 168k every even year ?

They do. You pay maintenance fees on 84K per year, but get to use 168K in even years - that will show under "Points Status".

Points status was like 83723 before I made a reservation
.Sounds like previous owner borrowed points ? Is that why I don't see all my points?

Mine only shows the 84k. I called Wyndham today they said I should have 168 k in the account but looks like the orignal owner borrowed half the points last year.

I emailed the eBay company I got it from they said they will contact the old owner.
Not sure what can be done. Guess I'll see what they say. I didn't pay much for it seller paid all the fees. But right now I'm out paying for maintenance on 84 k points for the year that I don't have.

What can I do on my next purchase to make sure this doesn't happen again?

Estopple

Did you get an estopple from the seller? I am in the middle of a purchase and the estopple I got listed the number of points I'm allocated annually, the number of points available for the current year and when the year ends.

i got a email from the seller says that they checked with wyndham and yes the old owner actually booked a stay 4 days before the contract transferred (lol) can you believe the nerve of them...... good news the office will send me a check for the spent points maintenance fees. im good with that.
