All,

I am in the process of purchasing my second Marriott Aruba Surf Club week resale. When it comes to the 13-month reservation window availability for owning multiple weeks, how do I access this benefit? Will it automatically link to my existing MVC account? Or do I have to contact Marriott and ask them to link the 2nd week to my MVC account once finished purchasing? Any guidance would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Make sure that your new week is deeded the same as the week that u already own and that u give them your MVCI owner number so that the new week goes into your existing account.

Thanks! That's definitely good to know about the deed being in the same name, because my wife and I have gotten married since we purchased our first unit. That might cause an issue with the different maiden/married name on the documents. I'll make sure my existing MVCI number is all over the documentation.

If the Weeks are in the same account then the 13-mos Reservation Window can be used as long as you're booking multiple Weeks (or lock-off components of multiple Weeks) consecutively or concurrently. The Weeks/components don't have to be from the same resort or in the same season - what matters is that the intervals you're booking must fall consecutively or concurrently on the calendar and be available to book at the same time.

The online reservation system does not allow for instant Multiple-Weeks bookings. There's an email request function but those are processed after the online queue is handled so if you want high-demand inventory you should be on the phone when the window opens for the first of your desired Weeks.

Lets say I own two 2BR weeks at a resort which I can lock off. I realize that I can use the 13 month rule by locking off both weeks and using them consecutively/concurrently: week 1 - studio from first 2BR, week 2 - 1BR from second 2BR, week 3 - 1BR from first 2BR AND studio from second 2BR. As you can see I want the 2BR week usage on that third week. However, I've also read on TUG that there is a small chance that Marriott may not give me a full 2BR if I book the studio and 1BR separately.

In order to eliminate this possibility (even if it is remote) - can I use the 13 month rule to lock off first week and book three weeks in the following way at the same booking time: week 1 - studio from first 2BR, week 2 - 1BR from first 2BR, and week 3 - use full 2BR from second owned 2BR week. Will Marriott allow this? Or will they not allow since the first two weeks are booked from the lockoff units of the same 2BR week? Does anyone have first hand experience trying to do this?

Yes, you can absolutely do this.
