AG seems to want to concentrate on educating consumers up front,...interesting
 
Hope enough of you were able to watch it, I have sent off an email to WFSU to request them put up that particular broadcast as a link available to watch on demand.

Hopefully we can make this available for all to watch here shortly!

I was very pleased to see that both the AG and the head of the Dept of Agriculture (responsible for the timeshare industry) appear to have a firm grasp on exactly what is going on with the upfront fee scams in this industry!

Was just informed that there will be a rebroadcast of this press conference at 12:15am eastern time tonight (9:15 pt for you leftcoasters!)
 
Just recieved word that the florida channel has no plans to offer this webcast as a link for on demand viewing, so please put it on your schedule to watch tonight if you can at 12:15am eastern time.
 
I didn't get a chance to watch it (was working).

Can anyone provide some details or highlights from the webcast of that conference?
 
It was basically just a press conference where both the florida AG, and the Dept of agriculture were announcing their recent success in going after these scam companies (link to the statewide crackdown results are in another thread)...and their desire to continue to push forward and do more as Timeshare resale scams have become the #1 consumer complaint in florida.

They also announced the new Timeshare resale scam website for the florida AG's office (also announced here in a previous thread).
