A few people mention staying mostly on weekdays as a way to stretch their points….Is there a way to book a 1bedroom starting on a Monday during late January to February at the Bay Club (not this year, but in general)?
I think the points chart indicates that an 11,200 contract could cover those 11 days, but the check in date would prohibit it.

"Check in date" is enforced for home week reservations, IOW made at 9-12 months out. At 9 months, it's a Club reservation, and you choose check in date. We own a 2BR Kingsland week. We have a reservation for a Bay Club 1BR coming up in late February checking in on a Monday.

Is the Maui Bay Villas hard to book at 9 months? I know it is more expensive for ooints since it is new m, but I can see myself buying a lower cost HGVC resale and then tryi by to go to Maui Bay Villas periodically. I kind of wanted to go to Big Ilsand properties, Maui Bay Villas, and an occasional Oahu every 4-5 years I also like Kanapali beach club and Point at Poipu but I don’t think HGVC points work at those properties right? It would probably require 2 different contracts to visit all the Hilton Hawaii properties right?

The property is still new and under construction (adding phases) so we don't know how popular it will be. For periodically, then I would recommend just booking during the club season. BI is easy to book with the lower pt 3BR booking first during club season. Many times there is good availability at Bay Club even a few months out. For Oahu, book during club season with lower point rooms at Lagoon Tower booking first.

The easy answer is yes in case the previous responses weren't clear enough. I think that Bay Club is one of the easiest HGVC to book.

Great answers in this thread. Does anyone know if Hilton short stays bookings for HGVC owners includes all HGV and Bluegreen properties or only the HGVC properties? was curious if any of these Hawaii properties ever show up in the short stays or if there are occasional days left for last minute booking

Resale in HGVC only allows booking in HGVC. Currently, BG isn't in the mix but expect you to purchase from the developer. But that doesn't mean that you will be able to book there since it will be < 6 months.

A tugger is giving away his Platinum Season 1BR Ocean View Kanapali Beach Club Annual deed for closing costs. Go look at the Free Timeshares forum. I was tempted but the wife said nyet.

KBC and P@P MFs are terrible (2k+).
Better would be to buy a trader at Craig Lodge, 2 BR Platinum for 4-4.5k GBP (+ only 195 GBP closing fee); MF 917 GBP; can trade into KBC or P@P or Cabo Azul via DeX, as outlined by @HuskerATL .... If not trading, get the same 11,200 HGV points for use at HGVC but have options for KBC/P@P/Cabo Azul etc...
Best!

that's awesome advice. i'm definitely steering my way to buy a vegas or craig deed now. however, it looks like only the craig lodge can trade into dex. it does look like it has recently been devalued in dex and there will be a sizeable fee to upgrade.
Does one ever see poipu/kbp/cabo azul on interval? those would probably be the only diamond resorts properties i'd ever trade into. most of the hgv properties seem pretty available to rent on the retail market and i'd probably never stay 7 days at any of them.

11 days should not be a problem at the Bay Club in January or February. We go to Hawaii every 2 years and stay at the Bay Club. We have stayed as long as a month. Last February, we spent 3 weeks at the Bay Club and then went to Maui Bay Villas. We were able to book both stays 9 months out. MBV is a nice property but it is kind of out of the way. You will need a car to get anywhere. HVC Ka'anapali Beach was being worked on last February when we were there. As was the Aston Ka'anapali Shores. We stayed at Ka'anapali Beach back in '08 and liked the place and location. IF we ever went back to Maui, that is where we would want to be. We prefer the Big Island when we go to Hawaii because it is less crowded. We have been there 10 times now and we still find new places to visit or explore. Good luck!

Correct; Craig gets you DeX; not Vegas.

No devaluation of 2BR Platinum at Craig in DeX (can read thru comments at that thread).

Smaller fee for exchange (compared to RCI & Interval), no upgrade fee required for 2BR Platinum Peak season as that is Tier 6 in DeX but pls do your due diligence.

Best!
