I agree that was a great day in history.

My Family members have enjoyed both theme parks and many Disney cruises.

But would Walt and Roy Disney be happy with today’s admission prices to both theme parks and the every increasing costs to cruise the Disney Cruise Line.

Personally, I’m still a big kid at heart.

I think they would be thrilled. I think they were all about big profit. I am going there in 2 weeks - not just expensive, but I have to read multiple websites and watch you tube videos about how to use the app.

Correct, anyone who suddenly sees enormous profit isn't going to cut profits when a small percentage of people complain. When Disney brought back Bob Iger as CEO, he complained about the frequent admission spikes, but he has implied the next ones won't be as often. The previous hikes were an attempt to slow down demand, but obviously, demand is still strong. If admission spikes $50, no one is going to cancel, they're going to delay coming down. On Friday, capacity was reached at the Magic Kingdom before 10am and they had to close the gates.

If you (or anyone here on TUG) is going to WDW and staying at any DVC resort between now and November 12th, I am @ Disney Springs doing Audience (aka guest) Control from 6:15pm - 12:30am Thursday - Monday in the Disney bus area. We're easy to spot, we're the ones in the orange safety vests, assisting guests get to their buses to take them back to their DVC timeshare. Anyone who is staying off-site and taking their buses, or taking rideshare, those are at the "West Loop" which is near Cirque du Soleil. If you see the "Minnie Van", those are SUVs painted like Minnie Mouse's polka-dot dress, they ONLY go to WDW theme parks and Disney hotels/DVC, and you hail them using the LYFT app (they are more expensive than regular LYFT or UBER). Unlike Universal Studios' CityWalk, Disney Springs is FREE to park in their garages ("Grapefruit" garage is for Disney Cast Members only).

1) absolutely agree. I just don’t believe the talk about “Walt would be so upset”
2) in the olden days of fastpass and then fastpass+, I was a dedicated student to maximizing our experiences and actually enjoyed it. (Any other TGMers or EasyWDWers?) I just haven’t kept up at all, and really have very little desire to. We still have a number of days left on old non-expiring tickets, and will probably catch one day next spring break when a family member is performing with her HS band. And the planner in me will try to figure out some strategies, but part of me just doesn’t want to put in the work.

Can you get regular lyft or Uber at WDW? I am staying at the Margaritaville Resort near animal kingdom. I was planning on using Uber or Lyft to go to Epcot and DHS.

I loved the fastpasses. I would run around the park collecting them when my family went on a ride I didn't want to go on (like small world or something that spins in a circle). Worked really well.

Yes Uber and Lyft will pick you up and drop you off. Lyft is kinda the "official rideshare" at WDW.

Correct, you can pick up Lyft or Uber at any of the parks, there are signs or you can ask any of the "Audience Control" Cast Members. Lyft also runs their "Minnie Vans", but they do not venture outside WDW.

Last night at Disney Springs (I am doing Audience Control until starting bus driver training next month), I had a moment that blew me away! While standing and observing, a girl probably 10 years old ran up to me with a huge grin, handed me a "Disney100 Card.Fun" (trading card), and said "Have a magical day!" I thanked her for it, I looked at her dad, who had a huge grin, and while putting the card in my pocket, told him "I will cherish this!" I could only hope and pray that girl never loses her love of Walt Disney World!

Disney is a place of true Magical Moments.
I will never forget my first visit to the Disney Theme Parks and our first Disney Cruises with my spouse, our son, our daughter-in-law, and our two grandkids. They were magical moments and sometimes Dreams do come True. IMHO

We’ll be taking the two hour drive down to Bonnet Creek at the end of the month for the Epcot Food & Wine Festival and , also, my birthday. Food, drink, family, fun, and all that Disney offers. I completely agree with this statement by the OP, “…when you enter Walt Disney World, you are happy!”

We will be at Disney for a couple of weeks starting 10/28. I love it. We will miss the grandkids, however. I love going with the kiddos. But it can sometimes be fun, just the two of us. I have dining reservations already set for a couple of favorites, including Mama Melrose's and Biergarten. We will be at OKW for two nights, then we move to Marriott's Cypress Harbour. I miss the days when I could get October through exchange at the Disney resorts. But this will be okay, too. Love CH.

I miss the old days of Disney and glad I was able to experience it during the 50's, 60's and a bit beyond. I very much doubt I will return.

Nope. That’s the deal. I give them money. They make me happy. It’s a great ROI as far as I’m concerned.
