The code is for presidential status. Anyone use this? Does it work for all or some Marriott hotels? What’s the number to call to book and apply code? Booking online via Bonvoy app or website with code does NOT work.

The codes work at VERY FEW hotel properties. In the past these were hotels that were usually (but not always) colocated with a MVC timeshare property. I would not expect it to really ever work for hotel bookings. The primary purpose is for discounts on Vacation Club property cash stays. Not hotels.

We just used this for an Orlando getaway. It is not intended for Marriott hotels. It is for MVC properties booked on the Marriott website. You enter it is a corporate rate in the appropriate box.

Sometimes the discounted rate will not be available at all while a cash rate is. On the other hand, I ran into examples where a regular rate has only 1BR units while the discounted rate also has availability 2BR units.

I've noticed over the past few months that very few discount rate rooms are available when booking on the Marriott hotel website. When I try to use AAA, Senior, or any coded discount rate, it shows no availability. However, if I don't include the discount rate in my search, I can pick and individual property and then find the rate available when I enter it for that property. I doubt this is a flaw with their IT and think it is intended to discourage people from using discounts. I've also noticed that when you search for points reservations, you can no longer see the point requirements for a hotel until you chose it to 'view rates'. Marriott enhancements now are only done to 'enhance' their profits, not to improve customer experience.

I am still able to see point requirements when I search for a hotel and do not have to chose view rates.

This happens if you have a default discount code on your account - in my case it is the "Amex Biz Card" member rate which somehow got attached to my account when I got that credit card.

You can resolve that issue if you run the search when logged out of your account, then log in only when you want to redeem points. You will then see the point requirements... Here is an example of what I see when logged in and logged out:

Thanks for the tip. That is strange. I didn't think you could check points reservations without being logged in. Something must have changed in my profile because I was always able to see the points requirements when logged in until about two months ago.
