I've also noticed that when you search for points reservations, you can no longer see the point requirements for a hotel until you chose it to 'view rates'. Marriott enhancements now are only done to 'enhance' their profits, not to improve customer experience.

Thanks for the tip. That is strange. I didn't think you could check points reservations without being logged in. Something must have changed in my profile because I was always able to see the points requirements when logged in until about two months ago.This happens if you have a default discount code on your account - in my case it is the "Amex Biz Card" member rate which somehow got attached to my account when I got that credit card.
You can resolve that issue if you run the search when logged out of your account, then log in only when you want to redeem points. You will then see the point requirements... Here is an example of what I see when logged in and logged out:
