How do South Beach Signature UDI work?

Does anyone know if South Beach Signature UDI points are treated the same as other South Beach/Lake Geneva/Smoky Mountain points? If you already have an old status (from before new trust statuses) and you buy South Beach Sig UDI points, will you gain any Sig benefits (eg Sig upgrades, or comp stays in Sig units)?

Im not sure but according to this old thread they will have restrictions unlike the non sig south beach points. To gain any sig benefits they would have to increase your VIP level correct? Which would not happen with any resale points. I assume your talking about resale points?

Yes, I am talking resale points - I was looking for existing status benefits applied to Sig units. For example getting a free stay in a Sig unit instead of a non-Sig unit. It looks like there is no benefit to buying South Beach Sig UDI.

No resale UDI pts alone will increase your status. If u did buy resale, you will likely have to go back to the developer and to buy again and convert those resale pts to tier status. Complimentary stays for members depends on status tier and no complimentary stays within 60 days, which is the maximum time-frame to reserve those stays (90 days for millionaire club), can be applied to Signature units.

If people with developer Sig points can't get Sig Complimentary stays, then I wouldn't expect those benefits. Yes, If you want Signature benefits, which includes early access to book, upgrade to next size unit, and ability to trade into RCI/Registry collection, you have to tier up and own in Signature for it to even be worth it.

Otherwise, I think if you just own UDI or Signature wk at specific location, then that's all you get usage for. Unless you converted to pts system, hence status tier. That old thread did mention something about the SBR UDI pts being restricted to just SBR. So if u found a seller and it's a lot of pts, may work out if u like SBR.

IMO, the pts value isn't worth it compared w reg units pts. If u want real luxury w concierge service, go with a higher end brand other than HICV.

What do you mean by tier up? If I was Elite with non-Sig benefits and I bought developer Sig points, I assume I would become Elite with Sig benefits without changing tier level (Elite w/o any Sig points -> Elite w/ Sig points).

Basically that. If u are Elite w/out any Signature ownership, that would be an accomplishment and you aren't missing anything special, unless u want to trade into Registry Collection. As it stands, u need min 500k tier and own Sig to gain that benefit. Any owners update nowadays is to get you to return any current contracts and buy all new Sig pts contracts.
