Options to book for non-owners of Timeshares

Yes - I was referring to WM mega renters who for example book all the 3BD at Seaside for the summer or all the Indio units during Coachella. There are some work arounds dicussed on wmowners.

Yes, on Worldmark there is a Cabal of mega renters that think they are entitled to manipulate the system so they can make money off of a timeshare product meant for personal use.

This was happening on the Wyndham side and thankfully they were crushed and put out of business. A couple of them still cry about it on the Wyndham forum.

The rest of us owners appreciate their efforts because it opened up previously unavailable inventory monopolized by the wanna-be slumlords

Not nice that we have the same problem on WM side :-(
Hope Wyndham clamps down on them, so avg Joe's & Janes have a chance to get their reservations
TY!

Unfortunately it's explicitly allowed in the Worldmark founding documents, so there's not as much Wyndham can do on the Worldmark side to cure this ill... The best you can do is humiliate and shame them on public forums like this

OR, you can accept responsibility for your decisions. If you don't want a system that allows renting, don't buy into it. It's called due diligence.
AND you can learn to use the rules to increase the possibility of getting what you want, but also accept that you aren't the only owner who wants that week. Even if there were no renters, there would still be more demand than supply and no guarantee of getting a high demand week or weekend.
The best you can do is humiliate and shame them on public forums like this
The old saying applies; when you point a finger at somebody else there are 3 pointing back at you. i.e. whining and arrogance just reflect poorly on you. The only person you are humiliating is yourself.
I'm not a renter, but I also recognize that I'm not the only person in the universe and don't expect everybody else to conform to my wishes. There are lots of other owners out there with all sorts of wants/needs/desires and I will gladly adjust to others and am happy to learn from them.

Those two statements contradict each other, and your comment about “humiliating and shaming… on public forums like this” does not reflect well on you, especially when you are a Guest here.

I feel compelled to add that - like @sue1947 - I do not rent my Worldmark reservations, even casually. But I do support this forum by paying annual dues, and consider it a bargain.

The turn this thread has taken is a bit ironic, given that the OP wanted to now about “booking opportunities for non-owners”; i.e., RENTAL.

Agree; let's all be nice & not say bad things about each other.

OP, @victw really liked their WM TS experience as a guest per their post & wants to buy into WM TS system but wanted to 'try it out' before buying into the system.. (was not asking about being a renter forever etc)

Excellent recommendation & highly recommend @Floridaman76 to become a paying member, paying the modest fees.

I think @Floridaman76 's intention was not to say bad things about mega-renters but was simply expressing frustrations of many with this issue, impacting access for all the average Joes & Janes. Respect his opinions & hope others also keep things respectful without shaming & humiliating him...
TY!

Understood.

We stayed for a few nights at a WorldMark via a friend's reservation. I liked it, and I think it might fit our travel style. We will buy on the resell market when ready. However, I'd like to stay at a different location before committing to the buying process. I've found https://www.clubwyndhamvacationrentals.com. Which does list the location and dates that work for us. Is this my best option?

Thanks.
Vic
This is a legitimate site and if you want to rent from them you should have no problems.

https://www.extraholidays.com is also a safe place where Wyndham rents extra units. These might not be the cheapest options, but they are legitimate places to rent Worldmark units.

Or, maybe some of you can get jobs rather than sitting in your basement at midnight 14 months out looking for "hot deals" to rip off other members.

Real great "trump style" ethics there. You must be proud... bless your heart
And this is why they invented the ignore list. Congrats.

BTW how many WM credits do you own? Why not go troll your own sandbox.

thanks for your excellent example of my point.
