Ok, call us crazy ... our journey to 1 million HH points via HGV Owner Updates ...

We spoke to the concierge at Kohala Suites. She was offering us 100k for an OU until I told her we just toured at MBV. She said the policy is 30 days in Hawaii before you can tour again.

So our friend who met us and is staying with us went on a tour as our referral … she got 50,000 HH points, three free breakfasts at KL ($72) and the discount package which we already saved $150 for booking scuba refresher and two tank dive at Kohala Divers plus whatever other discounts we get book through the HGVC concierge. Of course she said NO.

The problem was our friend forced me to attend the 120 minute presentation with her. Oh boy that was painful. I haven’t been to a basic presentation like that in a long long time. I’ll tell ya’ll later what they offered. So do I get credit for the 50k HH points? 🙏🙏

Checked in at MBV yesterday and really wanted to unpack so I skipped the “concierge” but headed back after. I was offered many different excursions or a meal at HumuHumu’s and did not take any of them. They offered me my last offer of 120K off the bat. I countered with 150K and the concierge called to plead. They countered the 120K again. But as we talked about our plans for the week, a message came across text and my minimum 150K was accepted. That’s the good news. I haven’t attended an OU in the past 4 visits.

We really had issues with MBV Concierge. She didn't know what she was doing or who we were or where our lead came from. And she was trying to sign us up for a 90 minute newbie sales spiel. It was ridiculous. The offer was 80k then up to only 100k.

And then at the OU, we told the sales person what we had and she goes to the back to verify it. She barnstorms back and says you don't have that, this is what you have and this is what you need and then hard sells us the Hawaii Trust with MAX. She didn't hear a word we said and we really couldn't get too much of a word in edgewise because she was so sure of herself and what she thought we needed. Finally she shuts up long enough that I use her computer to pull up our account and show her what actually have and she acts stumped but then doubles down on the Hawaii Trust Max program and we say no and that we are done. She took it personal like her feelings were hurt. So as we were leaving she runs us down and says "oh you own at Marbrisa too ... we can offer you a program with that property." Basically SMH, we say no thanks and says she will call us with the new Hawaii Trust Max offer based on our Marbrisa membership. She called us five times before she got the message NO.

150K points is great!

We got 125K in March at Marbrisa (also 1 of our home resort and the original retail purchase). They swore that was the highest they could go... so congrats on your scheduled appointment!
 
I’m at LPC and the concierge seems like she might advocate for me, but their starting max? offer is 75k - I drop won’t do it for less than 120K and they did not meet my offer, they stayed at 75k; she gave me a song and dance that the region we are in doesn’t go above 75k. No meetin’ this stop. I had just done a MBV OU 3 weeks ago, and I thought they wouldn’t do another within 30 days. She assured me they would. I’ve been down this rabbit hole - yes they do, no they don’t. I’ll be in Cabo next month - we shall see what they’ll offer.

LPC only 75k 😒 that stinks. We are headed to OO and OE in Nov. they better step up their game … our million point march can’t hold up with those dinky incentives.

La Pacifica should be an easy 150-200 k. I don’t know what Cabo Azul offers. We got the song and dance that 150k on Sept goes back to 100 k in October (edit: at MarBrisa).

I will be at Ocean Oak in a few days. I wonder what I will be offered to attend an OU. Last time (early June), I negotiated up to 150K HH pts. I wouldn't bother for much less.

I was at CA in March ‘25 and I got 120k with a lot of arm twisting. When I checked in I got a glance at the offers of other people in the room the early morning appointments. A lot took the CC varying from $200-$350, HH points were 80k. Then they cancelled my appointment, I still got the 120k for just being pretty 🤩.

Curious, has anyone ever been given Bonus Points for an OU?

They were sticking with the $25k to upgrade. Manager said they used to be able to swing deals below the $25k min post Covid but not now. Tried to sell me HVC Trust at first. Said not interested so what could they do for me HGVC. Asked what they had HGVC MarBrisa and if they had a HGVC The District to throw in the mix. Said used to be able to get District but not now as “supply is tight.” It was interesting at least. They offered me full credit CSR even though clearly resale plus credit for our HGVC MarBrisa EOY gold studio. Best offer was 3 BR Villa 80 annual gold which we could have negotiated down closer to the $25 k plus 54k HGVC Bonus Points. Told him from the beginning we didn’t want gold so we ended the negotiation right there. Manager basically handled it all from early on since the young lady we were assigned was fairly new. Went about 90 mins before the DW was kicking me under the table. 150 k OU.

I think you enjoy these for their entertainment value & clarifying recent rumors/trends in HGVC Retail world (IYKYK, as an HGVC geek) apart from the Multi MM HH pts journey!
