Hi all I thought there was a do not sell or disturb list for Club Wyndham. I wrote to them thought and got the following response:

My goal would be not to even be asked to go, I went last time dont know why in Bonnett Creek in April, Got 100 buck Amex Gift card. But had to hassled for 90 minutes. I know should have walked out. They swore, after i would have access to a new system for reservations was why i went. To find out it was a lie, or I feel it was, and it always comes down to sell sell sell and because I bought my original points 3rd party im like the 'red haired' step child which is fine. This is why I concluded going, i never want to do.. and get on a list would be perfect and enjoy what i purchased....

Is there really a list to get on so they stop even asking, meaning ic an check in get my key and relax........?

Thank you for being a valued Club Wyndham Owner and contacting our Owner Strategy team. We appreciate you taking the time to reach out to us.

I apologize for the confusion, we do not offer a voluntary list to be excluded from owner update meetings. Please be advised owners may be invited to update sessions while staying in any of our properties. However, these are not mandatory and completely optional. The presentations provide owners with changes in the ownership program, as well as information on new program packages, benefits, and features. Owners are welcome to ask questions during these presentations, but if they are happy with their current ownership and not interested in upgrading they may leave at their discretion. Owners can always walk away from the presentation with no obligation of purchasing a contract or signing any paperwork.

Wanted to wish you a fantastic upcoming vacation at Desert Blue this November! Its always wonderful to see our owners making the most of their membership and enjoying their time away.

If you have additional questions, please reply to this email or call us at 1-800-251-8736. We’re available Monday-Friday, 8 am-8 pm, and Saturday-Sunday 9 am-6 pm EST, to help you get on your next vacation.

I requested to be put on the list 4-5 years ago after having to loudly demand my credit card back after ithe sales associate got up and started leaving the room with it. I haven’t been asked to attend another meeting since then. So, I think there’s a list.

Whatever it takes. She was taking my credit card to run a credit check without my permission to do so. She gave me the cc back and I got on the list. Win-win for me.

I was told by the salespeople at my home resort that I was on a list (yay) and wasn’t bothered for years. But on my last 2 vacations the salespeople have been trying to solicit me again. I confronted one of them and they said I was NOT on a do not solicit list! So I guess I’m going to have to do something to get back on it! For the record, I feel sure there is a list, and I think I got on it by telling people that I had never had a problem with sales people bothering me at a Marriott or Hilton resort and they should buy into one of their resorts rather than Wyndham:)

There is a list, and at the current time Wyndham determines who it puts on and removes from it. Certified Exit can get you put on it, even if you’re not fully exiting. I was placed on it in 2019 and I can pinpoint it to exactly when my first contract left my account via then-Ovation - we were on a four-resort driving trip out west, and I was asked at resorts 1-3, the contract was removed from my account while we were at resort #3, and I wasn’t asked at resort #4 nor ever since. For a period of time Wyndham allowed owners to request to be added, but it seems once word got out more widely they stopped taking those requests a few years ago.

This is correct. There's three lists, DNC - Do Not Call, DNG - Do Not Gift, and DNS - Do Not Sell. When you submit the email request these days, you're now only placed on the DNC or Do Not Call list. This is required by law similar to when you ask any company to be removed from their automated calling/spam lists - they must do so by law and must provide a way to do so by law.

The DNG or Do Not Gift list is what Wyndham stopped doing once the instructions started getting out on social media and many folks started asking to be removed from both the DNC and DNG lists. The DNG list is what prevents the concierge/marketing desk from pestering you about attending sales updates when you check into any resort that has a sales center available. This is the option that they are no longer honoring by request.

Lastly, there's the DNS or Do Not Sell list, which is the list where you cannot even purchase a developer contract from Wyndham for whatever reason. The DNS list is obviously much smaller than the other two lists by design, but for a very small number of active accounts, this list does exist.

But I thought that DNC lists really didn't matter if you had an active business relationship with the company. At least from a legal standpoint with the DNC list. They don't have to honor the national DNC registry if you are doing business with them. So it would seem that if you have active contracts with Club Wyndham, they don't have to honor DNC requests.

I liked that response, I'm going to print it and use their reply.

Not with an explicit opt-out. The EBR matters if you are on the national/federal DNC list - it's a carve out - but if you explicitly request to be put on a DNC list from that particular company - they must honor this request legally - this supercedes the EBR exception - and since using the process everyone has found is an explicit opt-out, Wyndham must honor this legally (and does). References below.

I wished the DNC list included Spams Calls.

But I think this just impacts phone calls. Being on such a list wouldn't stop them from being able to solicit you in person after check in. I guess that is what the DNG list is for though? Being on the DNC list won't help most people. The key would be to get on the DNG. The DNG sounds like a nightmare for me...

There is a list. I am on it. Apparently one time in the past after driving 12 hours in terrible traffic and being extremely tired I went off on one of their parking pass persons and had her in tears. I did not use foul language but made a scene in front of a lot of guests waiting behind us. Low and behold I was put on the much coveted DNG list! Happy days are here again.

Correct, the DNC list is not the DNG list, which is not the DNS list. As I already stated above, three different lists. The request to be removed from the DNC list used to also include the DNG list, that stopped during the pandemic a few years ago now.

We were placed on the DNG list in 2023. I made a small purchase of developer points that year(a planned purchase) but in order to complete the sales I requested to be put on the DNG list. We have made all the purchases we wanted. Today I can report that in 2 years and visits to 9 resorts, we have not been asked to do an update. A 10th resorts, Avenue Plaza initially tried and I told them I was on the DNG list which they didn't believe existed until they pulled up my account. I was politely told to have a good vacation. I highly recommend DNG if you are not interested in the gifts or purchasing.

There is definitely such a list. I got on it after a heated meeting at Daytona when the weasel would not accept no. That was in about 2020 and I have not been asked to attend a single meeting since. I simply walk over to get my bracelet and I get a enjoy your vacation. So liberating not to have to go through saying no forcefully and getting my BP up!

The list does exist, there is just no voluntary way to get on it unless you can somehow rase a scene at the concierge or sales desks.

I made the do not tour list and when I did it for free was told hey could not sell to me. I wanted to wash my resale purchase that they thought was retail.

You are also typically added to the DNG/DNU list when using the CE program - even if you're only handing back in one contract and not closing out your entire account.

For the most part, if we have time on our check in day, because we arrived early, I don't mind attending a presentation.

I can attest to this being true. A number of years ago in Branson, when we checked into one of the Wyndham resorts there DH and I signed up for a sales presentation because we wanted to explore the other resort, where sales was located, and also to get the gifts. But when we got there to check in, they told us we weren't eligible. It was shortly after we began the process to give back our Shell ownership.

Interesting twist to my DNG. We are in Myrtle Beach and LOL... checked in, no requests to attend update. A day later, I got a phone call from "Customer Representative" to inquire about our stay and room. Then they stated that they see we are on DNG and she was not asking for me to attend sales meeting because corporate prohibits it but "that Wyndham has is scheduled to briefly meet to have them update our account number to Travel and Leisure to ensure we see all properties. Also that when I log in, it will no longer be club Wyndham but travel and leisure."

I told her politely, I was leaving at 5am tomorrow and could not make it. The absolute nerve that these sales weasels to try to circumvent corporate DNG.

I was told when put on DNG that if I elect to go to update, the sales department has to call corporate to remove me from list. And then my DNG is gone. Crazy the depth of lying they will go to.
