Is there any place that an owner can view by property the number of points received for the property vs. the number of points required to buy into the property?

To state your question somewhat differently, I think you're asking about the number of Marriott Destinations points received when an enrolled owner opts to deposit a legacy week vs. the number of Marriott Destinations points required to book a similar week. (If you mean something else by "points required to buy into the property," I apologize.)

Here's a thread that includes the Marriott Destinations points received:

http://www.tugbbs.com/forums/showthread.php?p=930883

The points required to book a similar week vary by the week of the year, and do not necessarily follow the old Platinum Plus / Platinum / Gold / Silver calendars.

I think you want to see charts that show you how many DC points you would receive for trading in your week for DC points for all the resorts broken down by season, # of bedrooms and the views. As far as I know there is no central location or a single chart that contains that information. Posters have given examples of what their weeks are worth for a trade in here on TUG and I know that when I log onto the MVCI site with my user ID and password and indicate that I am interested in joining the points program I can determine how many points I would get for trading in my two resorts but I think it is done on a individual basis and I have not seen a single chart that gives that information for all the resorts.

Now as far as how many DC points you have to have to book a certain MVCI location using points that is based on the individual resort, time of year, # of bedrooms, view and the # of nights you want to stay. THere was a chart buried deep on the MVCI website that gave that information when they first introduced the program in June and some of the earlier threads had links to where it was located. I went onto the web site tonight and tried to find the chart and could not locate it. However perhaps it is there and I jut did not dig deep enough. Maybe someone who is reading this thread can post on how to find that chart now.

In follow up the only way for me to see what my weeks are worth if I trade them for DC points is to actually log into the MVCI web site with my user ID and password. That gets me into the owners area and then I can click on a link which gives me the point values for trading my two resorts. My information is as follows: Grande Ocean, 2 Bedroom, Ocean side view, Gold time is worth 3325 points in trade in. My Manor Club original 2 Bedroom platinum time is worth 2375 points in trade. On this same site I can use a drop down menu to select a resort, # of bedrooms, view and use the calender to obtain a check in day and then select the # of nights I want to determine how many points I would need to have. For example I would need 3450 points to spend 7 nights at GO in a 2 BR Ocean side unit during Sept which is gold time. I would need 2950 points to spend a week at Manor Club in a 2 BR during the summer which is platinum time.

Each resort's individual Points requirements for reservations can be found when you sign in to your my-vacationclub.com account - select "Vacation Club Points Charts & Calculators" from the drop-down menu under "PLAN AND BOOK MY VACATION."

The pdf file that looks like a booklet with all of the reservation Points requirements (through 2012) for every resort can be found by signing in to your my-vacationclub.com account, also. Click on "Learn More", then "Enroll Now" to the right, then check the "I understand" box at the bottom and click "Start Enrolling Now." On that next page you'll find the Point values that are being given to the Week(s) you own, and at the bottom will be links to all of the legal documents including the Points Chart for reserving all resorts. Note you can go this far to review the docs without actually enrolling.

Links can also be found in Dave's sticky post at the top of this Marriott board.
