Does the Sands accept Traveler's Checks to pay the final bill? I was thinking that might be a way to avoid the foreign transaction fees on my charge card.

Also, do you know if they have Activia in their food market?

Thanks for the information.

Yes you may use travelers checks to pay your bill, and I think I do remember seeing Activia or something very similar.

Good question about the traveler checks, are these also taken at grocery and Walmart in Cancun?

I need to check to see how much my international fee is on my cards before we leave.

Credit Cards at the Royals

Has anyone had any problems with having your account hijacked if you just used them at the hotels

I have never had an issue using my cards at The Royal Resorts.

We take some traveler's checks and turn them into Pesos at the resort's front desk; we really don't use much cash at all, though, just some tips and bus fare and occasionally if we go shopping somewhere we'd rather use Pesos.

There are a few restaurants we prefer to pay cash in, mostly places we go for lunch.

Never had a concern about using a card at Royal Resorts however. We'll often pay down the balance with leftover Amex cheques and then put the rest on the card to avoid transaction fees.
