I got an AC in a promotion on II for buying a Getaway week back in March. The AC is very limited in what it can see as far as resorts go and can only be used within 3 months of check in date. I really thought this AC would be able to see a lot more during the flexchange period but it is extremely limited, which is disappointing. It expires on March 12, 2010. Does this mean that the check in date of the week I use it for has to be on or before March 12 or can I use it for a check in date after March 12 as long as I do the exchange before March 12?

I don't know the answer to your question, but if you search for anything available and nothing shows up beyond March 12th, you will have your answer.

Unfortunately you will have to wait until mid-December for the true answer to this question. Worst case scenario, you book something that works for a friend (with or without quotes around friend) and they get a nice vacation out of the deal and you wind up with some "points" from said friend.

I'm in a similar situation with an AC. According to an II rep, travel must be completed before the AC expiration date

If you think that's bad, I get ACs that can only be used 45 days prior to check-in. I have been able to use it a couple times and a friend used it once to go to Mexico, but for the most part they just end up expiring.

I've never used and AC before - don't you have to pay an exchange fee based on the size of the unit you get? Sounds like these highly restricted AC's aren't worth much!
