Has anyone ever seen Disney properties available in RCI?

Now that Disney trades with RCI I'm curious how many Wyndham points I would need to deposit to see any Disney vacation club properties for November of this year. I have a lower value Hawaii week sitting in RCI right now and I don't see any Disney available for that. Does anyone have a large enough value deposit sitting in RCI where they can see any Disney available?

so far, no-one has "seen" a DVC property using a Wyndham generic deposit, nor with a visible. Only "TIGER" traders or "TOP TIER" trades are getting Disney and those are not deposited by Wyndham.

I have seen many DVC using my So. Cal beach property.

It will take the return of ARP/RCI AND ownership in a very desirable location to snag them.

Where do I get a tiger trader?

That's the question. Especially right now, no one really knows, because RCI is whackadoo.

Do you have any developer purchases in your Wyndham portfolio? If so, you have access to PlusPartners, and going thorugh RCI Nightly Stays you would be able to get access to the DVC inventory that is in RCI/Points.

I've never bought from a developer.

I've been playing with RCI with a Hawaii week I deposited. I'd be realy curious to compare what that gets me compared to a generic Wyndham deposit. Can't think of a good way to do that though without first making the deposit and I don't think there is a way to get the deposit back after I did my searching.

Search a specific area with your HI week, and write down a few of the better options. Then, ask for a "search first" from Wyndham. They will transfer you to the Wyn/RCI desk, and you ask the RCI VC about those specific sightings to see what the generic can and can't do. You can do this and still get your deposit back.

Do not put anything on hold with RCI, and don't forget to call Wyndham back to cancel the search-first, or the deposit will become permanent. Also, keep a record of which Wyndahm VC you speak with when you initiate the search first and again when you cancel---there are a lot of mistakes that happen with search-first, and you want documentation of everything you do.

Tiger Traders= NYC, Boston, Cape Cod beach summer, CA beaches summer, Key West among others

If you join TUG ($15) you will have access to the member's only Sightings Board where DVC Sightings (what's available) are posted on a nearly daily basis. There is currently a lot of discussion there about RCI and DVC.

I must have one of those tigers because my Hawai week is able a bunch of DVC weeks for November of this year. Wyndham points show nothing for Disney.

To those of you that have tigers, what is the lowest yearly maintenance fee you have seen for a week that can be called a tiger? If I want to add another week to my inventory, what would I buy?

My Hawaii week, which just pulled me a 2 bedroom at Disney's villas at Wilderness Lodge, costs my almost $700 a year now in maintenance fees. Can I do better than this?

That is a steal for what a 2br VWL would cost you to rent or go thru cash ressies at disney. RCI is wacky right now and the last communication I got from them is trade power is evaluated constantly on your deposit. I was under the impression when you deposited your week the "power" was set. Well that is not the case they can change it at anytime.

I've read a little about the RCI wackyness since posting my last message and now wonder if my Disney trade was a fluke. I confirmed on June 9 though which I think was after the recent changes took effect.

one tiger maintenance is about $650, the other is close to $700 (ocean front summer)......

Join Tug to see what it is sightings and what it will take to get them.

Enjoy your week---I think there were several folks who got a little extra pixie dust during the upheaval. Why not you?

So you're saying me pulling a week at Disney for my Hawaii week was a fluke? I was going to sell this property now that I have Wyndham, but the Disney trade made me reconsider. Now I don't know if I will have the same luck in the future and the only way to find out might be to prepay my 2010 maintenance fee and deposit the week to see what comes up in RCI.

If this thing pulls Disney or the like every year I'll keep it. If it doesn't I'll dump it.

What resort is it? Hawaii trades very well, generally. I think you did well in getting DVC and wouldn't count on Wyndham seeing DVC--ever, unless you go through RCI Points with your Wyndham points. I don't really understand it.

It's Imperial Hawaii Vacation Club - 1 bedroom. A block off Waikiki beach and far from spectacular. I bought it just to trade it, have never been there.

My Wyndham is a week converted to points and I was given an RCI weeks account when I closed on the Wyndham. Could I choose to get an RCI points account instead? I have never looked at the difference between the two.

I don't understand why Wyndham trades so poorly within RCI when their resorts are generally pretty nice.

If you pay a fee, you can use your Wyndham points in the RCI Points system by depositing 154,000 for a 2 bedroom and get one in return, but as I said before, I have no clue as to how it works and haven't used it myself. I think I have the ability to do it, but I also have straight RCI Points, not associated through Wyndham, and it's great, so far. When RCI changes that, it could be a huge disaster.

Cindy, if you have plus partners, you'll find that it is very efficient for exchanges with higher than average RCI Point values, becuase the crossover grid is fixed by size and season.

The recent Weeks-side trade power changes has me seriously considering enrolling in Plus Partners. At $2400 the enrollment fee isn't cheap, but it wouldn't take many DVC peak-season exchanges to pay off vs. rental.

I think you should go for it and let us know how it works:rolleyes:

I'm thinking of doing the same thing and heck if I get one 2br DVC it pretty much pays for itself. I just don't trust wyndham or RCI to continue the practice. If I knew it would stay as is for at least 5 years it would pay off for our family. I have 3 wyndham contracts (1 account) would the $2400 cover all my contracts? We have just shy of 500k pts.

Adding Plus Partners adds it to the account. Every contract under that account, thus all points get Plused in the process.

I already have Plus Partners on my account.

I am thinking of someday adding some cheap points, just to make better use of it, but I think I will wait a year and see how it settles out.

I'm also holding off for a while. My "adjusted" weeks still see many (but not quite all) of the DVC weeks, and just last week I lined up my Feb 2010 week the "old-fashioned way."

So, no need to take the plunge just yet. We'll see what happens going forward.
