Does anyone know how much more Sheraton usually charges in MF when a 2 bed l/o is an EOY vs annual. I know it is more than simply dividing the annual in half but I am trying to figure out how much more someone would be expected to pay for the EOY.

If you look in the MF thread at the top of the page, you can see the MF's for this year for most resorts.

You are not going to pay anymore in maintenance and taxes for an EOY ownership. It works like this....

~ Say you own the even year.

In 2010 the bill comes out. You would split the total cost of the maintenance fees and taxes 50/50 with the owner of your same unit that has the odd year occupancy. They same will occur in 2011.

If you are an SVN member, you will still pay the full SVN membership fee every year.

Make sense?

I did a very poor job asking my question. In going back and looking at a resale ad they list the MF at $542 annually for an EOY 2 bed l/o at SDO. In reasearching the MF thread the annual MF look to be around $840 or so. I called the seller and they stand by the $542 amount. Can it really be this much more when compared to the annual MF? I asked if their amount included SVO fees and they said no.

Your question was position correctly. I am assuming the seller gave you the amount WITH the $109 SVN fee that they are paying. If you take that away, they are paying $433. Then you take the $10 ARDA fee out which is optional...you then have $428. If you multiply $423 x 2 you will have $846.

Just to add....because SDO is a voluntary resort, I do not think the SVN fee is posted with the information in the owner sticky....

You must be watching the same auction I am (don't worry - my finger isn't itching enough yet to pull the trigger on anything so I won't be competition for you). I'd be really curious to know what the broker comes back to you with. I was turned off by the listing because of the MF listed there that didn't seem quite right. If you pursue this further, I'd love for you to post the outcome.

Thanks for the help with this. I am hoping to be able to secure one of these resales soon as we are trying to get into a timeshare. We have never owned but we keep watching the resales in the hope of being able to make a purchase soon and really appreciate all of the information I have been able to secure from TUG.

I have 2 EOY weeks - one odd, one even - at SBP plus an EY ownership at SBP..... aside from SVN fees (which I do not pay as a non-SVN owner) the EOY MF total is slightly more then the EY ownership....by a few dollars.

Please don't make me dig out the exact numbers.....

There is an additional fee of approximately $20-$25 per year for having the privilege of owning EOY. All other costs are half of the annual MFs. You will also pay the SVN fee during non-use years.
