So I am heading in early (to get the donuts) for the Arizona Reception at Canyon Villas.
As I enter the lobby all the staff is lined up in a reception line.

Was wondering if this is something new, when I hear a people starting to get excited and look behind me - It's Mr. Marriott.

He does a quick tour with the staff .
Me being the Marriott nerd run back to my Villa grab the Camera and come back just as he is coming out.

So here we are -

Hey,
I was sitting near you (recognize your shirt) and the donut table and missed JW!

He's been here before when we were--the only person at the Lazy River in a pin striped suit. We were in Maui once when he blew through. The staff was cleaning the tracks in the elevator doors with toothbrushes to get ready for his arrival.

It's a BIG deal.
Is that why Matt the fun bar manager had on a tie?

Nice story, now answer the real question that eveyrbody is wondering about, how were the donuts?

That's neat. Thanks for the picture. :) That's the equivalent of getting your picture taken with Roy Disney while staying at a Disney property.

I have to tell you Canyon Villas has the BEST donuts of any timeshare welcome breakfast we've been to. They are big and fluffy, glazed or chocolate frosting, cake donuts plain or frosted. There was good Starbucks coffee, and they had orange slices too.

Very nice and very lucky timing. We were just there -- left on 3/21. Wish he had visited the prior week.

If I had seen him, I would have asked him about the fees in Aruba.

What did he say about the new internal exchange/points system coming out "soon" that will rob every resale buyer of all their rights in their timeshare?:hysterical:

Given Roy's often-strained relationship with Disney mgt, that one might be a little harder.

I heard it got better after Eisner left. ;)

From the outset Iger went right after rebuilding the relationship with Roy Disney and Pixar. From all appearances he was successful in both efforts.

If I had met Mr. Marriott I would not have used the occasion to press him on operational details of the timeshare business that I did not like or that are not officially released. Best to meet and greet and get the photo. It does give you an opportunity to follow up with a note containing questions or comments.
