While I was recently at the Surf Club I notated something that I believe is very useful info when making room requests.
When I check-in and received my room assignment 4813, I was disappointed thinking it was a 4th ffloor unit, the lowest of the oceanview units I believe.
Well much to my surprise 4813/4814 was a 14th floor corner unit, perhaps the very best oceanview unit at the resort.

Noticing the disconnect between the room number and floor location I took video of the elevator room directory. I think the very best way to request a room is by room number, so I'll provide here to for anyone that finds it useful.
You're see it really is a quirky numbering system.
So 4813/14 is 14th floor corner of the Spyglass building. The Spyglass building is actually 2 buidlings in one. It consists of the one building "facing the ocean", and the one to the left, at a right angle.
In the elevator it listed both buildings, because the elevator serviced both SpyGlass "wings". If you went to the right after getting off the elevator, you would go in the section that points to the ocean. If you go left out of the elevators, you're in the section that faces the ocean as we were.
So here it is. One other important aspect of the number the higher the last 2 digits of the room number the closer to the corner it is, so my 4814 was a corner, and 4901 was the closest to the elevator. For some that makes a difference, so its nice to note. The 4901-4814 is not a typo. I don't know why its not 4801, as you see the other others, but that is how it is listed. It might have something to do with the 3BDRM units being located there.
