I have narrowed my choices to a stay at one of these properties. We have kids 10 and 13. Which would you reccomend? I am wondering if either have the option of 2 beds in the second bedroom, since they do not share well!

Thanks!

I don't think either resort has two beds in the second bedroom. Maybe I am wrong about that, but I know CH has a sofabed in the second bedroom with a queen bed. That might work. I think it would be tight in there, with the sofabed open. I prefer CH over GV any day, and I was hasty in taking a two bedroom at Grande Vista for December 4th. I am regretting being so anxious and missing my opportunity for a CH that came up a few days later. Darn! I love CH and will miss being there this time. :(

I would take CH. Your kids are the same age as mine, and they will have a lot to do. CH is very self contained and I feel very safe there. We let our boys go over to the activity center for a couple hours at a time and didn't think twice. They will also like the ability to make friends and interact with others.

GV is another great choice, but it is huge and there are a lot of people coming and going that aren't staying at the resort (golf, timeshare presentations, restaurant, etc.).

GV does have 2 queens in some of the 2BR units. I had this set up as part of a 3BR with a lock off. We occupied the whole thing, but my son and his friend each had a bed in the second BR.

Try a seach on this board under using the words "cypress" and "vista" and you will find a ton of info comparing the two. We stayed at CH and loved it although you get one bed and one fold out couch in the second BR.

I know this is an older thread, but it is referenced in a new one. Just to clarify, MGV does have 2 queen beds in the second bedroom if you get a unit that does not lock off. You will need to request this with the resort prior to arrival.

To clear up the question about 2 queen size beds in the second bedroom, yes they exist. They are not in every unit, but I am attaching a picture of our unit when we stayed in July 2007. ( For whatever reason, upload wouldn't work. Jpg file, any hints why?)
We loved the Grande Vista and thought the resort although large, was well laid out, beautifully landscaped and well managed. Our younger daughter actually visited CH last month with a few of her college friends, all 21-22 years old. My daughter liked CH, but still gives the nod to Grande Vista.:D

There is something about Cypress Harbor -- lots to do and safe. My kids and our family just love it there. I think Grande Vista is more elegant but hands down Cypress Harbor
