We usually occupy at our home resorts (Phuket and Aruba) each year. We book our AC without requests-we see what's available and pick. We rarely do requests.

HOWEVER, we decided to go to Aruba two weeks next year. We have booked our ownership week for the First week of June. I have deposited my Phuket 2 bedroom and have an exchange request in for the week before our booked Surf Club week.

We really need a 2 BR in Aruba because of the number of people joining us.

Do you think this will be hard to get? Its before schools are out. I hope that helps. The II person said most Aruba owners lock off their unirs for deposit making less 2 BR's available.

It will be a challenge to get a 2 bedroom but not impossible. There are also 3 bedroom units and some times these get placed in II for a trade as a 2 bedroom and a studio. It is true that most will lock off and trade separately.

If you have another week available you might try for 2 trades, a one bedroom and a studio. Then, a little ahead of arrival you could call and ask if they could be re joined.

Good Luck

The only other week we have available is an AC. I don't think they work for Aruba until much closer.

If the AC is from a Surf Club week you will NOT be able to exchange into the same resort. If its Phuket then you will but only during Flexchange.

It is a Phuket AC. What is the time period for Flexchange?

Flexchange is 59 days or less before travel.

A few suggestions you might consider:
-request the week after your booked week as well as the week before if those dates would also work for you; that would double your chances
-request the Ocean Club as well as the Surf Club. It is right next door
-if you see a one bedroom and a studio online for the week you want with the same check in dates, call II and ask if they will make both exchanges since you are exchanging a 2BR. They likely will if you are willing to pay another exchange fee. Then, as Beverly suggested, call ahead and see if they can be combined. However, this is only a good option if you'd be ok if they didn't combine them, since that is never guaranteed, although many have been successful doing so.

Well, for this week it will be me, my wife and my MIL so combining will not be a priority. :D

june surf club

I dont think you will have any problem with getting surf club at that time, it doesnt get real busy until kids are out of school. The time you are interested in is too early to take kids and after the cold months which makes all us New Englanders consider it a slow period to go to Aruba. The majority of the tourist population for Aruba comes from NE and that time period is not when we want to go.
