My wife and I will be in So. Calif. in Sept. and we have considered visiting the Richard Nixon Presidential Library in Yorba Linda, CA.

I have looked for "reviews" at tripadvisor and several other review sites and found only a few reviews.

Have any Tug members visited this library and would you recommend it?

Thanks,

drgary

We went in April (or was it May?) of this year, and we highly recommend it. We went to both the Reagan and Nixon libraries, not far apart, and spent hours at each. They are far enough apart that you can't do both in the same day, but both are worth your time. Nixon was alive as his library was being constructed and had a lot of input into what is there and how it has been done; they even have the house he grew up in there on the grounds, and he had them situitate it as it was, not allign it with the library itself.

My husband and I went to visit it in June. Some of our friends thought it odd that we were going and had a good chuckle, but I LOVE stuff like that and found it fascinating. You will find memorabilia and photos from pre-WWII through Viet nam, Nixon's birth home with original furniture, the helicopter that Kennedy, Johnson, and Lincoln used and beautiful grounds. I highly recommend it as well.

Enjoy yourself!

Can't comment on Nixon but the Reagan Library is not too far and worth the visit too. It was our first visit to a presidential library and we really enjoyed it! So much to see.

I went to university just down the street from the Nixon Library (CSUF) and it is a wonderful place! Very interesting. You can spend hours there. The Brea Mall is close by with great shopping.

Interesting. I thought it was a thread about presidential libraries.
