What is your best Marriott to Marriott trade?

I saw a similar thread on another board and thought it would be interesting to tell other Marrriott owners what is the best Marrott to Marriott trade you have made to date.
Please DO NOT INCLUDE flexchange or last minute trades found online.

in 2008 I traded a 2BR MLE platinum (July) into a 2BR Ko'Olina platinum (July) at 12 months prior. Waited 3 months.*




* This may sound incorrect, but I changed my original reservation from week 14 to week 26 after I already had my request in at II.

I don't know which one is better but these two were my best trades. You can decide:

1 bedroom Timberlodge (July week) for a 2 bedroom Newport Coast Villas (June week)

1 bedroom Shadow Ridge week (Spring Break week) for a 1 bedroom Ko'Olina (Thanksgiving week)

Both were matched right at 12 months. I put my request in about 15 months in advance.

I traded a 1bdrm Marriott Aruba Ocean Club (August 3,2008) for a 3bdrm Marriott Aruba Surf Club (Sept 19, 2008). Since I was flying using FF miless, I was able to change the flights for free.

The 3bdrm was a bulk deposit so it was outside the flexperiod.

I traded my 2 Br Marriott Manor Club Platinum for a 2 Br Ocean View at Ko Olina for June 29 - July 6, 2008. Just got back a couple of weeks ago. Loved it!

We had a week in Aruba locked in with family including tickets.

Traded a 2BR Ocean Club week for a 3BR Surf Club week for the exact dates.

Got an AC from the Ocean Club deposit and picked up a 1BR Surf Club week for the same dates during flexchange so even more people came along. The surf club put the units next to each other on the same floor. So in the 11th floor 3BR corridor dead end hallway we had 3 of the 4 doors.


We direct traded for Waiohai and brought my parents. Since then they have bought multiple Waiohai, Maui and Ko Olina weeks so we can come along for free. This year we are with them for two weeks at Waiohai.

We exchanged a Cypress Harbour sport week for Ocean Pointe during Easter week. We also got a beautiful oceanfront villa. We also traded Harbour Point week 26 for a July Newport Coast week.

Wow!!! How far in advance did you get the trade? A 3 BDRM...good for you!!!

We traded:
For 2008 Week 21 Gold, 2BDRM Grande Vista for week 26 Platinum 2 BDRM Harbour Club in HH about 11 1/2 months out, and
For 2009 Week 21 Gold, 2BDRM Grande Vista for week 29 Platinum 2 BDRM Harbour Club in HH about 12 1/2 months out.

While I know this is not oceanfront, you have to love the trading value of the Grande Vista!

we've only stayed at MGV once, have always traded it "up" - are trying to sell it as we don't need it any longer, but I keep thinking of that trade value!

I really want to try locking off my unit sometime and see what trading power both sides have. I'm a little reluctant to do so though because we have two young kids and always prefer a 2 bedroom.

We had the request in 13 months in advance, and were confirmed into it just under 12 months in advance.

If you have the ability to travel in September most years, then YES, you might ought to lock off your unit. You can probably get TWO 2 Bedroom units for your deposits.

Your right, it is fun to read what others are doing. People like Cindala getting back-to-back 2BR Harbour Clubs during prime season. Nice!
