I posted this question at the end of my last thread - one you all were awesome helping me with! :cheer:

My dad at 83 is impossible. He won't walk more than 3 steps - needing to be dropped in front of a restaurant. He's still very bright with all of his cookies. But he is hopeless. He also hates noise. He likes seafood best - and nice restaurants. My mother is much easier!

Anyway, I'm pretty sure we'll eat mostly at nice restaurants (must have a wine list) off Disney (they won't enter Disney at all - though I hear you can drive to Downtown Disney which would be great, as we'll take the kids 3 out of 7 nights).

So I heard restaurant row has very good restaurants. I found Moonfish, Bonefish Grill, Ayothaya Thai, and Cafe D'Antonio's - Celebration - all on line. Anyone heard of any? Anyone have any other suggestions based on our needs? THANK YOU!

One of my favorites is "Fishbones" off I-drive and Sandlake east of I-4 as they have great seafood and steaks and they have valet parking.

I also like "Bonefish" but not as much and they are also on Sandlake off I-Drive West of I-4 and I don;t think they have valet parking as the parking lot is large.

Probably one of the best seafood restaurants in Orlando is now the Oceaniare at the Pointe Orlando on I-drive near the convention center....this is very classy and also has valet parking with three steps to the front door. You will not be dissapointed with this one and it is directly next to the capital Grill and that is the BEST steak house (and has good seafood) in all of Orlando...but it is four steps from the valet parking.

One interesting option is the Tommy Bahamma Tropical Cafe also in Pointe Orlando, about 20 steps from Valet as it is across the fountain from the other two reccomendations.

Thus, Pointe Orlando offers many excellent dining options and also has shops, movies, and Johnny Rockets and Hooters if you want something less fancy.

Fabulous help! I am booking your suggestions.
Do most places book up a week in advance or are we okay reserving a day in advance? THANKS

Ellen--DH and I ate our anniversary dinner at "Texas de Brazil" in Orlando earlier this month. It is an awesome restaurant....if you are a "meat eater". :D There is a huge "bar" w/ all kinds of side dishes, (but not your typical salad fixins)....roasted veggies, cheeses from around the world, garlic mashed potatoes, sushi, etc. The servers come through the dining area with skewers of meat: pork loin, sirloin steak, flank steak, filet mignon, ribs, etc....and you can choose as much, (or as little),as you'd like. I have never eaten so much meat...and it's so delicious! :whoopie: It's expensive....$45 pp....but if you go on their website, and sign up for the eclub, you get all sorts of discount coupons: 50% off, 25% off, anniversary/bday discounts, etc. They do have an extensive wine list, too. All drinks and desserts are extra. You can make reservations....in fact, I think we made ours the day before our meal, (we had originally planned to eat at the California Grille in the Contemporary, but after getting so many positive responses at our resort re: Texas de Brazil, we decided to eat there.) Great decision on our part!:cheer:

We don't eat meat or it would be perfect! :hysterical:

Ellen - Cafe d'Antonios is great, and isn't a huge restaurant, and has a nice ambience, not particularly cheap. Neighbors of mine at at Fish Bones a couple of weeks' ago and loved it. Said the food was excellent.
Celebration is a nice place to spend the evening.

Cafe D'Antonios and Celebration - are they one and the same or different? :)

D'Antonios is in Celebration, along with another good restaurant Columbia. Celebration is an upscale area with a neat little downtown area with small shops, restaurants, cafes, cinema, hotel, etc.

How about a visit to Coronado Springs and a meal at Peppers Market

Coronado Springs (CS) Resort - Restaurants

Coronado Springs is another of Disney's moderately priced resorts that opened on August 1, 1997.

The complex has 1,967 rooms and suites situated in three villages around a 15-acre lake called Lago Dorado.

The foyer has a lovely fountain in its center, but it is the domed ceiling that is the true jewel of the entranceway. A soft pink glowing light opens into the dome itself... an incredible mural that depicts a gazebo with doves (lots of doves!) sitting/flying amidst a spring flower garden.

The CS has an American Southwest/northern Mexico theme. Plazas, courtyards and a rocky shoreline make up the terrain.
Themed to the region's urban areas, the Casitas (little houses) offer accommodations amidst plazas, fountains and palm-shaded courtyards.
They are three and four stories and are the focus of convention accommodations. Architecturally, the Casitas represent urban centers like Santa Fe or Monterrey.

All sorts of surprises decorate the grounds of the Casitas... lovely fountains, and a serene pool. Disney, of course, wouldn't be Disney if it didn't have topiaries! In the Casitas, surrounded by a near-circle of gardenia bushes, sit the main characters from The Three Caballeros. One section of lawn highlights a really beautiful piece of art made out of columns and wooden slats.

The Ranchos are 2- and 3-story pueblo-style villas that reflect more arid rural regions in a rustic ranch setting, complete with small streams tumbling over a rocky steam bed.

On the northern shore of Lago Dorado are the two story Cabanas which reflect the beauty and serenity of Mexico's coastal regions. More than half the rooms have lake views. The Cabanas are 2-story buildings with a sandy shoreline.

The resort is built around a 15-acre shimmering lake, Lago Dorado. Named for European explorer Francisco de Coronado, CS is a showcase of native architecture and landscaping. There is a stepped Mayan pyramid towering over an elaborate 120'x90' pool area with a water slide and a playground that doubles as an archeological dig site for kids. There is a jaguar perched over the water slide spitting water at guests as they slide down... and be sure to look for the Hidden Mickeys.

Great place to take everyone for enjoyable evening stroll and meal..

The Coronado Springs Pepper Market Food Court

Pepper Market is the Food Court and seats over 400 in an open-air market atmosphere. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, it features both standard fare (baked goods, pizza, pasta, burgers, chicken) and Mexican cuisine (tacos - tostadas). There is also a grill with omelets made to order. Pepper Market is open 6:30 a.m.- 11 p.m. There is also a cappuccino and espresso window with gourmet coffees and pastries that opens at 6 a.m. A margarita and beer kiosk also offers beverages.

The Coronado Springs Pepper Market Food Court is a different style of food court, the first "interactive restaurant" on property. You purchase your meals in a market-style set-up with various food stations. You interact with the chefs, visit the various food stations and keep going back for more food. Inside the large chili pepper iron gates, guests are seated by a host or hostess and receive a card. You then can stroll around the food areas, choose what you want to eat and receive a stamp on your card for each item you get (each guest receives his or her own card). At the end of the meal, you present your card(s) to a host or hostess and pay as you exit. A 10% gratuity is automatically added to your bill.

Pepper Market food counters include the following: tacos and fresh tortillas; Asian stir-fry items; American grill with steaks, rotisserie chicken, french fries; fresh pasta; specialty pizzas; cold and hot sandwiches; breads and sweet rolls.

The tables and chairs are bright and festive
be aware that the chairs are VERY heavy and hard to move
