Although free, the site asks for the Sellers's credit card. Would Bidshare be a trusted site?

Here is the full info on the bidshare site why they ask the seller's credit card info...

"Bidshares takes credit card information for both verification and validation purposes and for payment if applicable. Bidshares is committed to providing a professional, safe auction environment free of fraudulent auction and bidding activity.

We at Bidshares understand your concerns for security and have taken measures to secure your credit card information. The process works as follows; when your credit card is entered into your web browser and you click the send button, your browser will encrypt it with an industry standard 128 bit Secure Socket Layer encryption technology (you can click on the yellow lock at the bottom of your web browser to verify this). Only this encrypted string of letters and numbers is what is passed over the internet to us. Even if this encrypted string was intercepted, it is absolutely useless to anyone. Once we receive it, we store it in another ultra secure encrypted format on our servers that no one has access to."

Bid shares is perfectly secure - I've been using it for a couple of years. Unless you choose upgrades to your Ad, they won't charge you a thing. Requiring you to submit a valid credit card number when you place an Ad keeps out the scam artists.

They only charge your credit card if...

They only charge your credit card if someone meets your minimum amount you will accept. If someone bids below there is no charge. It's kind of like selling a house for $X and anything below that amount you do not owe the broker a commission. When your price is reached, then you pay. In Bidshares situation, they will charge your credit card for the fee for services rendered. Worked well for me. They are trustworthy.

Hi frenchieinme,

Not sure I understood the "if someone meets your minimum amount" you mentioned.

On their site they mentioned the "Opening Bid" and "Reserve" amounts.

Could you please clarify?

Thank you,
Renato.

Bidshares is now free

That used to be how they worked -- now it is my understanding that it is free unless you order "upgrades" like special advertising on their site. Bidshares is easy to use. Only problem is that the traffic does not seem to be great and everyone is looking for a super bargain - similar to ebay. Funtime

Unless someone reaches your reserve, they haven't met your asking price, and it's not sold. Unless you AGREE to take less.

Bidshares does not make a comission or charge a percentage of the sales price - all the fees are linked to the Ad and what you choose as far as Ad upgrades.

Correct. Price not met = no charges to your credit card.
