recommended travel bed to use instead of sofa sleeper

Does anyone have a recommendation for a decent portable travel bed to use instead of using a resort's sofa sleeper. We're driving to a resort that our kids would need to sleep on the sofa sleeper, but they're usually most uncomfortable. I certainly would never want to sleep on a sofa sleeper.

You could bring an inflatable bed with an electric pump. We got a good one by Coleman at WalMart. Another alternative is to take the sofa sleeper mattress off the fold-out frame and put it on the floor, especially if the mattress is a thicker one as opposed to a flatter one.

If space is limited, you could put the inflatable mattress on top of the fold-out bed.

I usually pull the sofa sleeper's mattress off the frame and lie it on the floor. Then it is fine.

We have typically done this as well, but sometimes those thin sofa sleeper mattresses are just a little too thin and not that comfortable. On the WMowners.com site a Costco Aerobed has been suggested. Depending on cost we may purchase that one.

How old are the children? How long to you plan to use the air bed that you purchase now?

If your children are 2-6(ish), I'd suggest one of: AeroBed For Kids air bed, One Step Ahead Deluxe Travel 'n Trundle, or GENTLE AIR Childs Portable Bed. These all have bumper sides so they can't roll off.

If you are considering a purchase to last you years, or your children are older, then the full/queen aerobed would be great.
