My deal at HGVC Valdoro Mountain Lodge finally closed and my online account is set up. Yippie!!! :cheer: I have a fixed week in a studio plus unit and 3500 floating points every even year. I have a reservation for the fixed week (week #12 2008) but can't use it next year (already booked Park City, UT through RCI for next year). When I viewed my Valdoro reservation online, there was an * by it that said the reservation could not be canceled and is subject to cancellation penalties. I thought you could cancel up to 31 days in advance?

What I would like to do is book Thanksgiving week 08 using home resort advantage, and either move the remaining 3500 points to 2009 or go through RCI to try to book a week for Spring Break in Colorado 2009. If I moved the 3500 points to 2009, would I be able to reserve the same size unit back into my home resort at 9 months out or at 12 months out?

Do you think it would be easier to get spring break in Colorado directly through HGVC using the 9 or 12 month reservation window (whichever one I am eligible for) or going through RCI to try for any resort in northern Colorado during spring break?

Your thoughts are appreciated!

I still am not entirely clear about the cancellation policy but I spoke with the seller and was told that the reservation is still also showing up in his account and that HGVC is working on fixing the problem. Maybe HGVC has a freeze on the reservation until they can get it straightened out?

The reservation can be cancelled without penalty if cancelled more than 30 days in advance. It will be easier to book through HGVC Club, but I would put a search out through RCI anyway.

You can make "HOME" resort reservationa at the 12 month mark only if you make them for exactly what you own. So if you own a 2 bd Platinum season unit, you can make reservation at 12 months only for a 2 bed unit during platinum season. If you want a 1 bed only, I'd reserve a 2 bed at 12 months then at 9 months try for the 1 bed and cancel the 2 bed when you get it.

Good luck
