I'm beginning to more seriously contemplate buying a week at Craigendarroch Lodges. Are all Platinum 2BRs Tier 6 in DEX or do specific weeks have different Tier status? TIA

Most, if not all, need to double check the weeks. 2 bed plats need to be Peak Season in the DEX EU guide to be Tier 6. I have not directly compared all the HGVC platinum season weeks to the DEX EU Peak Season weeks for Craig to see if they all match.

Good to see more people looking into Craigendarroch Lodges. More and more people are learning about it. Whenever they have really cheap prices on their resale list they usually sell really quickly-- which means decent exit liquidity.
DEX was what sweetened the pot enough for me to buy as well-- just be aware that it has isssues, I still can't use DEX on my login and have to call DEX EU to book (plus I can't see the bookings available either).

SInce Craigendarroch trades on Interval, I also tried to pick a week that has a high TDI. My personal recommendation is just pay slightly more and get a good summer week.
Plus, pick a week that you might go visit yourself someday.

… hence my comment; it wasn’t really deleted. ;) That gives you the opportunity to be creative and put something like “This post under renovation through September. Please return then to read.”
Luckily, our favorite moderator cleaned it up for me...:)

i have a 3 bedoom platinium week 24 for sale on tug

So...I've learned a bit more and read the 2025 DEX EU Member Guide and DEX Club Member Guide (9) and have a question.

Does DEX give better trading power to earlier deposits as II does? Or does trading power only depend on the Tier of the deposit?

Or does trading power even exist in DEX and instead everyone sees everything and DEX relies on the Tier Upgrade fee system to 'match' trades?

Only on the tier. It doesn't change and you see everything. If you exchange for a higher tier, you just pay the upgrade fee... And exchange fee but that is for every exchange

+ Excellent exchanges available via DeX EU; amazing value & availability (as has been shared in numerous prior posts)...

So tier doesn't change with a late deposit? I need to go back through the DEX guide, but is there a deadline to deposit?

Where do I find information about the HGV Resale office (Donna Leslie & Krsytie Anderson)? I couldn't find anything in forum search or google.

Kyrstie Anderson is the sales person so you would start with her. Donna is finance and who you pay, if you buy.

Trying to understand more on how to use Craigendarroch Lodges. From what I understand, you can visit this property during your week or deposit into DEX. Can it also be deposited into HGVC or exchanged for HGVC points for use in their system?

Yes. When you buy at CL, you have the option to activate your week in HGVC or not. There are some owners who buy there and then either use the week, rent it out, or exchange in II without joining HGV. There are others, like most folks in TUG who activate the week in HGVC. If you do, then the week or weeks that you own automatically show up in HGVC as a reservation for your fixed week. At that point, you have the option to use the week, deposit into DEX EU which requires a separate enrollment, or cancel the reservation for the HGVC points

What week that you buy depends on your primary reason for buying the week. If you just want points in HGVC, then a 3 bed plat week has the best MF/pt. If it is to exchange in DEX EU, then it will depend on which tier that you need the most. You can look at the DEX EU guide and the CL table to see the tiers by unit type and week then look at the properties in the back of the guide to see what tier the unit that you would want is. Also, you can pay to upgrade so just because you want a tier 6 unit, doesn't mean that you need to own a tier 6 week

I see, that makes sense how it works. I'd likely do the same, activate it in HGVC and either deposit it in DEX or cancel for HGVC points depending on travel plans for the year. From your posts I've read and tiers in the guide, it seems 1BD, peak season (Tier 4) would be best for DEX EU but unsure what that translate into pts, probably 7680? Is there a table showing MF/pt for each unit size at CL?

Yes, the CL table in the HGVC rules guide has the points by lodge type by season

A 1 bed plat week in HGVC is 7,680 points but you also need to look at the table in the DEX EU guide to make sure that the week is also a Peak season week in DEX to be a tier 4. They aren't, necessarily the same.

There isn't a table for mf/pt but you can look at the points in the HGVC CL table and then at the TUG MF sticky and calculate them.

Hadn't thought of that but will calculate, thank you!

All the plat weeks tend to be between 0.09 and 0.11 with the 1 bed plat the worst but I feel, it gives you the most flexibility and a much lower purchase price. Plus, you can compare the cost of exchanging a tier 6 with a tier 6 and a tier 4 with a tier 6 and they aren't much different when you calculate in the MFs and upgrade fee

Yes. When you buy at CL, you have the option to activate your week in HGVC or not.
@thelee
Also, buying CL weeks directly from the HGV resale office qualifies for "Elite" status on the HGVC points system if you are interested in that many points and the perks associated with Elite tiers.
