New resale/developer points issue

I received confirmation this morning that this issue has reportedly been resolved. I'm currently down at GG in Williamsburg out and about so likely won't be able to test and validate on my end, so if anyone happens to be able to do so - please reply back in this thread with a yay or nay for us all.
I tested it earlier, it was still not working. Edit: and again just know, no luck.

It looks like it is going to work for me...

I did not actually complete the booking. I got to the last step without an error. What error did you get, and where??

I started with developer points, knowing there were not enough. when I tried to book, instead of asking if I wanted to use available resale points it said an unexpected error has occurred. It looks like you borrowed points from another use year. not the same thing.

You HAVE to start with resale points in order to make this work. It's always been this way.

Start the booking using Resale, then use developer points to in-fill. It doesn't and never has, worked the other way.

Wrong. I have done it both ways over the years since dev and resale were separated. In fact it only really has an effect if you start with Dev, because adding resale negates any dev perks (discounts, upgrades, etc) EDIT: that is the specific reason they were separated, because only dev points get VIP perks.

I've never had it work when starting with a developer transaction. If it worked for you. I would say that was an error.

The entire point of that is to not let resale points have VIP privlages, and when you start with developer points, the transaction will have VIP.

I didn't borrow from a future use year, I made a transaction in my next use year because i'm out of resale points this year.

I am an October use year, and I have currently 4000 points left in resale (I have made bookings with the rest already), so I started a booking at BC in middle of October using that use year's points, it got t the point to borrow points or use developer, and I chose developer, from the same use year. Both sets of points are from the same use year (2027)

But the point is, if you were trying to get use of mixed points by starting with Developer, it's not going to work. You said it did, either you are mistaken or it was broke.

It has worked for years. The whole point of this thread is that it is broke. Try reading the thread before posting examples or making blanket statements. When they made the split, Wyndham made a point of saying if you start a res with dev and have to add resale, you lose any dev related perks. It was a big part of why they made the split. Also, the original error occurred regardless of if you started with dev or reslae. It appears they may have only fixed part of it.

It's not broke, it was never supposed to work that way... you can't start a booking using Developer points and supplament them with resale. Since they instututed separate point buckets and the drop-down menu it's never worked like that. You have to start using Resale points, then supplament with developer.

If this worked for you, consider yourself fortunate and move on. It's not broke. I and several others must have misunderstood your issue when you first posted this.

Also, what exactly are you trying to accomplish here, other than trying to get something you are not entitled to?

So, I found some reports that others could do it, and some who very specifically said that policy is what you have said. Interesting. I remember being specifically told it was allowed (by a VC, who then did it for me) and have found examples of where I actually did it without making a call, in the past (at least according to my notes). Possibly Wyndham said it could not be done, but never actually blocked it. Or maybe you are correct and my account was an anomaly. Under most scenario's, I would be looking to use up remaining resale, so would not start with dev. I only tried this time because it was the only way to force a combination given my current balances.
EDIT: it appears that the last time I did it starting with dev was in 2023.

It has been well documented here on TUG since the ability to combine points was implemented (in late 2021 or early 2022, I think) that it had to be started as a resale reservation. If it was ever accomplished starting with developer, that was an anomaly.
