Ok, call us crazy ... our journey to 1 million HH points via HGV Owner Updates ...

I just checked in at the “VIP” checkin at Sea World. They are doing 30 minute OUs. I was offered 80,000 points or $250. I hate these presentations with a passion. The woman was flabbergasted that I said no. I said “I know right?! I can’t believe it either!” She said, you have never been to an update. “Yep!” I replied. She got kinda snippy after I turned her down.
30 minutes. A breeze baby.

At Williamsburg right now
Offer is $250 or 100k points
Hasn’t changed in two days
Suggestions?
We took the points, we compared the cash value vs using the points for an upcoming stay we had coming up and the points was the better value. Had we not had a need for the points I would have taken the cash.

At Cactus Rental Car we got hit up for Hyatt 90 Min timeshare tour. They offered $450 … damn Hilton needs to step up its game. La Pacifica Hilton Club only offered 125 k HH for OU. We said no thank you. She went up to 150 k HH but we said No thanks. That the best she can do she says. So we said no. We pulled up the Hilton app and it was 213,000 for one night same unit we are in. She said she is going to “try” to get her boss to approve more. We said let us know.

Is this 150K points per night or 150K for all four/five?
Likely per night. It was a Waldorf Astoria. IIRC, when they opened it was 130K per night there.

Sorry to not be clear. 150k HH per night. I wish that was the total I would have stayed there a month.
Thanks. That's what I thought, but I am not a HH user so wanted to clarify.

@JohnnyO , ? 200k on La Pacifica OU?
Always nice to hear of your HH quest/winnings & pushing the bar higher!
Nope. The lady lied. She didn’t even work the next three days after signing us up without a time. She wasn’t asking anyone anything. I spoke to two other concierges and they said 150 is max. So we went for it. Win some lose some.

We took our 150k HH point OU. The experienced expat was nice and informative. He said he looked at our account and admitted he wasn't going to be making a sale today since we have mostly resale. Gave us a tour of the 1 BR which was oceanfront. Nice. We asked what it took to get that OV unit and he said a HC La Pacifica deed (of course). He was real interested in CL resale getting us EP.

He said he posts HGV, Max and HGVC and exchange company weeks for rent on RW for himself and his "owners." Not just home weeks as we asked about the restrictions. Says he has never had a problem posting on RW nor with Hilton posting reserved HGVC, HGV, and Max and exchange weeks for rent. We left it at that.

He showed us a few searches in Max including using time finder and the grid to search for vacations available by cheapest points in order to stretch the membership points utilization. That was interesting. General chit chat about what it would take to convert a CL platinum 2BR to Max and get Premier + and of course reverted to the $25k minimum to convert. We were out in just over the 60 minute mark.

When we checked in at the Cactus rent a car lot in Cabo and they brought our car out to us and loaded bags, there was a gentleman offering a "Hyatt next door to Hilton Club La Pacifica" timeshare tour to pay for our rental car. $250 USD cash was the offer. We were like that doesn't pay for our rental of $495. After the guy checked with his boss he offered $450 USD cash and free breakfast (with $20 cash deposit refundable), 90 minutes with breakfast time included. Since we could walk there and we know how to say NO we said why not tour the resort for possible future stay and take the money and run. It turned out to be Zoëtry Casa del Mar Los Cabos with is affiliated with Hyatt. Breakfast was ok. Service was terrible. This pitch was for Vivenzia Vacation Club which included Zoetry, Breathless, Secrets, Dreams, Hilton, etc. Resort was nice but not interested and out in 90 minutes. Sure enough $470 in USD as we left. Took the scenic walk on the beach back to Hilton La Pacifica. Beautiful.

We've done a couple of the Hyatt tours through National Car Rental in Cabo. $300 each time, covered about half of our two week rentals. One of the spots was pretty decent (Secrets Puerto Los Cabos), the other not so much (Breathless CSL). Mostly all inclusives, but we weren't impressed by the breakfasts. Think there's a tugger that bought into that system who's posted that it's not a horrible deal, but we own enough already. Last couple of times renting a car we haven't been asked - might have to switch car rentals. Was the $495 for one week or two?

Post #1 in this thread set the goal for points in 2025! This sounds like you’re coloring outside the lines, so I have to throw the flag. Please adjust the totals accordingly and start a new counter for 2026!

Nope. It's all clarified in my posts which one's were outside the lines. Clearly we were over the 2025 goal of 1,000,000. Glad that's over with. Now we are just having fun. And no goal for 2026. We can discuss (over a Josh Cab) what to do with your flag when we see you in DC.:LOL:🍷 I honestly don't think The District will tour us again but hey ... never say never.

Apparently you never say NO either :)

JohnnyO, you are not crazy. You are a planner and an excellent HH points & HGV mathematician and an Organizer, who has learned to have fun.

Please continue your mission and please continue to have Fun.

The one thing I guess I regret in not going to HGVC locations much (not many points, not a lot of locations that make sense for me to go to) and also not getting offered presentations is the HHonors points opportunities I ... don't get.

Just remembered to post our stay at The District on Feb 15-20. We are ownera there via resale deeds. Surprised for an offer to attend presentation. Off the bay it was $250 or 150K pts. Dont need points so we went for our 60 min OU for $350 Visa gift cards.

Real low pressure which I am surprised. Looked at our ownership and said is there anything we needed. He told us if we enrolled we would have no fees anymore. I said with my AI fees I did not pay reservation fees and I am a borrower so no fees to save points. He was astonished there was another way to pay no reservation fees and I assured him I did not.

That pretty much wrapped up conversation and we were out in 40/45 minutes.

$350 is pretty darn good. Great job on the time too. Best we have had in dollar amounts just happened in Cabo where we got a free breakfast and $450 USD cash at the end of 90 mins. We may start taking cash if the offers get this high. Points are great but we have about two million HH points and have burned through about 1.5 million HH in the last year and a half. Always worried about devaluation of the dollar and the HH points.

I still don't understand why Hilton hasn't flagged JohnnyO's account? I mean you never buy anything from them. Correct?
