Wyndham is closing a handful of legacy resorts - dedicated chart/tracker located in the first post for this unfolding set of events

@paxsarah Check out today's the post in the Wyndham Timeshare Users Group. Someone posted asking about the foreclosure papers for Fairfield Glade they just got. He didn't know anything about it prior to this. There's quite a few other people saying me too. Not just for Fairfield Glade.

Not everyone is on Facebook nor in that particular group so my take is there's still a larger number of people in that situation at this point than I would've guessed.
I think I've seen at least two in other groups in the last day or so too. My question is how they're (Wyndham? The HOA? The lawyers?) managing to contact owners now but didn't manage to contact them before. The communication part of this has been even worse than I expected (and the bar was low).

I agree, but wonder if some of those who say they had no idea simply ignored previous communications. That has been a noticeable theme when discussing other things in some of the groups.

Yes, it's primarily this. Wyndham has dispatched snail mail to all impacted owners - but most of them never bother to open the correspondence. We've brought up this issue repeatedly on our bi-weekly calls with Wyndham. Owners think it's just spam/newsletter/advertising or their annual bill or something, and don't pay it any heed. Unfortunately, even if the envelope says, "important legal information" or "IMPORTANT" on it, so does every other spam type snail mail that I get these days unfortunately. Perhaps using certain official statements/words should be illegal for advertising-based mailers.

Wyndham cannot make people open their mail unfortunately.

UPDATE to the UPDATE: After about 5 attempts, Wyndham finally has spelled my name correctly on the deed transfer papers. My last name is Maltzman. On my original deed it was misspelled as Matlzman.
The person I spoke to said it would be corrected.
Yes, to Matlzam. And my first name corrected to, I kid you not, "WHO."
He assured me that this is OK. I said which notary is going to sign that "WHO MATLZAM" came before him, showed identity papers, and signed?
Oh, good point. So the papers were once again "corrected" to have my name correct in the body, but signature now had my correct name, but still "Matlzam."

Doesn't the title department at Wyndham literally have ONE JOB? To correctly record deeds and paperwork? This is just beyond ridiculousness.

They misspelled my wife's name when we added a resale contract several years ago. It was spelled correctly, then it wasn't. Happened when the second contract was added.

Yeah, they have like one job and they typo things still

Question to the Wyndham people: for owners who have indicated they want to take the CWA swap but Wyndham hasn't gotten to them yet, theoretically they're paying only program fees right now (?) and their HOA fees on their old contract have stopped. Owners report that they still have access to points in their account. Once their CWA contract is in place, will they be billed for back fees for the CWA contract back to January, or will they simply pick up the CWA fees from the point the contract is signed?

If that was me I'd be assuming I'd eventually need to pay the back CWA fees (which of course would be fair) while hoping for the old Monopoly "Bank error in your favour"

That's basically what I told the person on Facebook who asked - I have no idea, but I could see it going either way.

I'm hoping this page will be updated with additional resorts as they're put up for offers: https://hilcorealestatesales.com/national-resort-asset-portfolio/

For whatever reason, even though I've been checking periodically on the listings on the Hilco site the timeshares weren't showing up, but a Star Island owner said that bids had been opened for it so I did some more searching and found this direct link that has four resorts so far.

Thanks for the link. I'd been looking for something on Hilco's site.

Good find - I’ll add this to the OP soon.

I've searched through this thread and can't find a link to an updated CW directory. The latest I found was a 2025-2026 directory that includes the now removed locations. If anyone know of the updated directory I'd appreciate the link. Thank You!

That's the most recent Directory but I'm sure there's been supplements since then.

The easiest way to find them is on the Wyndham website. You don't have to log in, just look towards the bottom of the page for Publications, it's in the dark blue area, and click on it.

I can only speak for my experience. I only learned about the resort bankruptcies here. TUG BBS is the only reason I was able to make an informed decision. It seems rather ironic that Wyndham seems to do quite well communicating with me when they want to market something to me or when then want to charge me. But when they need to inform me about my resorts going bankrupt and when the CWA swap doesn't seem to be in their financial interest - suddenly they don't put much effort into making sure the offer makes it to me. Suddenly they can't seem to get my e-mail correct. The same e-mail that they send all sorts of offers to each month. They only put a small amount of resources to answering the phone for affected customers to call. And they still have never officially told me that my points are no longer avaialbe for use as they still show up in my account.
This is a crappy way to treat a "VIP Gold Owner". Those "Gold" benefits got watered down over the years as the maintenace fees have gone way up. They have moved on to upsell more products as they treat me like my status is old and unvaluable.

And after the last few "owner updates" that were offensive beyond belief and now this CWA debacle- I'm just done. We had good times at Fairfields and Wyndhams but the time to leave is here. If I stay there again it will only be with a rental (that I probably can get better financail deal on than CWA).

Really feeling blessed that I was fortunate enough to own all my points in two resorts that are both in bankruptcy. Glad to be saying goodbye to Wyndham.

I obviously am not debating anything you are saying or your thoughts on the topic, but i would think that the CWA swap would be in Wyndahm's interests? They must have a ton of CWA points in inventory, and the longer they sit on Wyndahm's books, the more MFs they are responsible for every month. Getting them into accounts of bankrupt deed holders seems to be a good move for Wyndahm. Keeps the deedholders in the system, and gets inventory off their books. They still have plenty of inventory to sell at retail prices.

Some of the posts here seem to think that Wyndahm is going above and beyond by offering the CWA swap, as they obviously didn't have to - maybe I'm a little jaded, but I think if Wyndahm is doing it, it's to benefit them. Nothing about them (at least the Corporate and sales side) is about going above and beyond.

Q? Has Wyndham built any new resorts within years?

Q? Has Wyndham added any new resorts within years?
I believe the last two resorts added were Atlanta,GA and Austin,TX. Those were about 4-5 years ago.

Atlanta was just under 4 years ago, because it was nearing completion when I last ran the marathon there in February 2022. Austin is several years earlier than that. Also Portland.

Same here. While we have been getting notifications in the US mail, not one word via email. I did send an email inquiring about the points swap, purely as an exercise in futility, and it took them months to get back to me with a response that told me nothing.

They did add on to Shawnee after it became Wyndham. Not sure when that happened but almost certainly not in the past ten years. I think the "new" section is called Crestview, maybe someone can clarify.
