We have a Marriott Grande Vista week that is enrolled in the Florida Club. Looking ahead to February 2027 we would like to go to Ocean Pointe in Palm Beach. So...was wondering if anyone has an idea what the availability for President's Day week in February might be by the time the 6 month booking window opens up? I guess we could book the week some time in August. No chance, all booked up, or are units still typically available? This would be our first time using the Florida Club option and also first time going to Ocean Pointe. Thank you in advance for sharing any experience with this.

What unit size would you be looking to reserve? Are you willing to accept a studio?

I have never ever been able to get a Feb week at Ocean Pointe using Florida club. January or March I have been successful; never Feb.

That said I have never tried to get only a studio. I typically only try for the full unit- so a studio may be possible- particularly if you are flexible with your checkin date and view choice.

Obtaining week 7 at six months will likely be extremely difficult as it is usually 100% booked at the twelve month mark. There could be an outside chance that you luck upon a cancellation but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Be sure you have a Platinum Grande Vista week if you attempt to do this when using the Florida Club. A gold Grande Vista week won't work if you want to use the Florida Club for this particular week.

By the way, have you tried using "Request First" in Interval International ? They could be looking for you starting now should you want to give it a shot......... Also, you could search with either a Gold or Platinum Marriott Grande Vista week.

Yes our Grande Vista week is a Platinum. Regarding the request first - wouldn't I need to have a deposit in II already? This is for 2027 so nothing booked yet. Do you think I should go ahead and book the GV week directly at GV (at this point I could only do January week), deposit it into II then do a request first for OP? Sorry I'm not sure how all that works.

They won't take your week UNLESS they are able to match exactly what you are looking for when using the Request First option via Interval International.

Personally? I would be willing to give up my Grande Vista studio and request either a one or two bedroom and be willing to pay the upgrade fee if Interval International can snag your match. But that's just me talking.........

Ok I will look into doing that thank you

It could be even more difficult than normal getting in there in February 2027 as last time I was at OP they said the Sailfish building is doing a hard renovation in early 2027 and would be completely closed for up to 4 months. So room availability could be down 20%.

I don't see how they could possibly be doing this during peak snowbird season.

Makes no sense to do it then but that came from Andy Mitchell the General Manager there at an owners breakfast back in October 2025. My guess is these are mandatory renovations required by FL law since the building is over 25 years old and maybe the project needs to be completed by a certain date and maybe that is why they are starting early. The fact they are ripping out drywall and replacing the plumbing, they said it is a huge project that could take some time and would require the entire building to be closed. I am not an owner there so I am sure someone knows a lot more about this than I do and can weigh with any updates.

With a request first, you don’t deposit into interval.

1. Make a home resort reservation
2. Contact II and say you want to do a request first.
3. They put your request in and ONLY if they make the exact match will your unit go to II.

I have done this and when a match did not happen, I canceled the request and still had full use of my unit.

In your case, suggest you wait and reserve a presidents week studio at Grande Vista ( as January travel demand in Orlando is not high) and then immediately put in your request first with II.
You will have a good chance of getting a match.

I have used the Florida Club for 20 years and (almost) always get late February - Easter reservations at OP but I have never requested Presidents week. I have multiple ownerships so can reserve at 7 months out.

We used the FC to get March and April for 2025, I think that week will be extremely difficult though a studio might be just the ticket. One point of clarification, when the term "exact match" is used above, it means the exact week, not start day. So you could get a week starting on Friday, Saturday or Sunday and that you couldn't control. You can call in and they'll put it in the comment field and that might give one a better chance of getting a specific start date but it would not be a guarantee. Of note is they will call you first and not automatically match for start dates that are Thursday or Monday (OP has TH, F, S, Sun).

I've tried to get a 2BR using the Florida Club with my Grande Vista week and was not successful. I couldn't even find anything in Feb. or March. The following year I did an exchange request through II. I did a request first, thinking if the trade didn't come through I would just go to Orlando instead, but I got the trade fairly quickly.
