HVC: The Point at Poipu, 3 deeded weeks, 1 is in The Club.
Many people, including myself, have wondered about the progress of the interior renovations at The Point at Poipu. In the annual meeting notice for deeded owners, they say that interior renovations are complete in Buildings 4 and 9. In 2026 they'll focus on the interior renovations to Buildings 1 and 8.

Didn’t they start renovations on bldg 6 also?

The letter may have been talking about what was completed in 2025. I don't know what was done before that, but I'll find out in a week when I arrive at the property.

Gee, Wyndham doesn't do renovations NEARLY as often as Point at Poipu does. I can say that without hesitation because Shearwater had an update about 15 years ago, and P@P had just done one, we were at Point at Poipu with my mother-in-law (long since passed), and she thought it was beautiful with the pretty light green furniture and carpeting. The draperies still had strips of fabric keeping the pleats in place because they just apparently hung them that day. Then P@P did another refurb, which we saw when we visited our friends who own there, and now they are doing another one. Shearwater is 15 years without any refurbs. This is the difference between Wyndham and Hilton/ Diamond.

We have been staying in the same unit types at Bonnet Creek (Wyndham) for about 9 years, maybe skipped a year or two, and nothing has changed in those units at all. Same rugs, same bedroom furniture, etc. I hope they change the beds occasionally.

The bug problem at the Wyndham resort on the Big Island will keep me from Kona Hawaiian Village for my whole life. Never have had issues at Shearwater but we are usually in a higher-level unit as owners (we book it with extra points). Hilton's resorts on the BI never have these roach issues.

I do not understand the loyalty people have for Wyndham. I will never understand it.

The Point at Poipu opened in 1995. They had major exterior renovations due to water intrusion problems back around 2012. They've had the same worn out kitchens and bathrooms until after COVID when they finally started updating the interiors. Because they're usually booked near capacity, they have only be doing the updates one building at a time.

Look forward to reading your trip update Art, I have an ocean front DEX exchange there next April 2027.

In December, we were in Building 10 for one week, then moved to Building 4 for several days. Renovations were complete in Building 10, but Building 4 not in Building 4.
