We are about 20 miles west of the Denver airport, and gas prices near our house, not near the airport, are $2.41-2.56 for regular gas, 85 octane (we are a mile high so lower octane is better for high altitudes).

FYI, low octane is not "better" at higher altitudes, it is just that higher octane is not needed to avoid knocking. Higher octane is always "better" than lower octane.

Prices:

The best priced stations in my county are at $2.59, but some are at $2.75. The next county over, there are a lot of stations at #2.49. This is in eastern North Carolina.

We have two gas stations here on Molokai and they are a block apart in Kaunakakai. One is $5.89 and the other is $5.87 a gallon for Regular, 87 octane. The prices have been the same for over two years now.

We have kind of a gas price war here in Thornton. Every other suburb (and Denver) is 20-30 cents higher.

Here it's about $3.25 right now for 87 paid by card without any discounts. You can usually save 10 cents a gallon with either a payment card from the station brand, something like Walmart + or paying cash.

$5 many places. $4.20 at the dontknowwhytheyresolow place I went to yesterday. I haven't been to costco recently but I'll bet it is about $4.20. It is usually almost 20% below the high-priced places. the dontknowwhytheyresolow place is 10 miles from the nearest costco, so idontknowwhytheyresolow

Las Vegas- Costco 87 octane was $3.50 last night. Many regular stations seem to be about $4.29 or so.

San Diego Shell Station at Pacific Coast Hwy headed to San Diego Airport was $5.99 a gallon for regular
This is the last gas station headed to the rental car center from the south at San Diego Airport
Gas in San Diego at Mobil is $4.89 based on what I saw yesterday

$2.99 for 87 octane which is Regular in IOWA today

Back near home (Orillia ON) our DD is reporting gas was $1.25 (Cndn) per liter at Costco today. Given today's dollar exchange rate, and converting Canadian liters to US gallons, that would be about $3.45 US for a US gallon. We are vacationing near Fredericksburg VA and saw gas this afternoon for $2.89 (which would be about $1.06 Cndn per liter).

The website Gasbuddy will show gas prices almost anywhere in the USA and many areas in Canada.

The same unleaded number?

It is crazy how people do not care about price differences. I go the brand that excepts amex, clean washrooms and 95% lowest price around but even the same company a town over on the only highway can have a big difference in prices. Max prices my area are regulated by the government.

I don't pay any attention to the price. We spend about $1200 per year on gas. Not a large amount.

I paid $4.90 for 91 a few hours ago. Costco is about $4.46.
