man, SW is over-the-top with the "treasure hunt" & bundling concepts of marketing / pricing. I'm glad I don't depend on them

I've only flew Southwest twice. Both times I flew solo. Both times I was very lucky in who sat next to me.

You have until 11/15 to complete the travel.
I thought it read that you have until August 28 to accept the offer.

You have to register and book a ticket in the August window I believe. I was going to Phoenix anyway so I’ll take Southwest instead of American this time.

If I just bought a sw ticket 2 days ago is it worth it to cancel and rebook now to get this deal? Ii guess it is?

Why not? Doesn’t cost any more.

If you are planning to fly again from Jan-Mar and could use a free companion ticket on any of those flights- then yes it could be worth it. Especially if you just have to register and then cancel and rebook and its still the same price you paid already.

You reminded me that we flew SW once 2 yrs ago. It was the only time in a LONG time. It was fine. I figured we might use them again. They got my email.
I got SPAMMED nonstop. I put them on Blocked To SPAM early this yr. Not worth my time.

Yeah going to look into something. I can make a new trip somewhere warm like Palm Springs. Thanks

My brother in law was in Indonesia for scuba trips and his email was hacked and the result was all of his contacts get spam. I'm not sure of how to stop these emails but they are getting less and less as I report and block them.

This is what it says.

Southwest out of Houston is now consistently higher than United, Spirit, Frontier and sometimes AA. With a first check bag fee of $70, I don't see myself flying on Southwest anytime soon. For those who need only two tickets, the companion pass might be worth it. I need 4 tickets (3 plus free companion) for any trip that I can make use of the companion pass. The price difference of the 3 tickets is higher than the savings using the companion pass.

I bought a ticket, then noticed it couldn't be a Basic fare.
Cancelled. Then rebooked qualifying fare for $70 more RT.
Figure a free ticket would be worth more than that.
Time will tell.

I'm not able to get the low fare calendar to load. Anyone else having that issue currently?

None of these travel dates help us with our current planned travel. I suppose this is supposed to make you travel more and thus spend more. We don't be doing it.

Yeah they have been doing this promotion around this time for the last couple of years. Helps them sell tickets during the lower demand fall months and then fill more companion seats during the lower demand Jan & Feb. The promo pass never lasts into the start of spring break season when travel really starts to pick up. But its a great deal if you have plans and can use the pass in Jan /Feb. I have a regular annual companion pass- and unfortunately I can't tack on the promo one as well to get me 2 free tickets.

I have many points and travel funds to use for Southwest. It will take a while to use all of it because none of it expires. Now that there are expiration dates on travel funds, I will have to watch what I am doing more than the past.

Southwest is offering some incredible deals on their credit cards, a necessity for checking bags without paying with the basic fare. I see no reason to buy anything other than basic, when we use Southwest. Maybe I am missing some benefit to the more expensive fares.

I always book Basic. That's why I had to cancel and rebook when I wanted to be eligible for companion pass offer.
