A little background…..we have been coming to NCV for 20 years. We always love the delicious Rose’s donuts they have in the marketplace and I know this sounds gluttonous, but when you are raising a bunch of hungry kids, having donuts is a huge treat, and we part of our NCV vacation was donuts every morning! 😁 Two and a half half years ago, we did our regular routine, donuts every morning, then on Tuesday of that week, I thought the bill (that ordinary was like $35) was rung up wrong, because it was about $70.😳 So I said something to the woman at the counter. She said they changed the prices(they didn’t have the prices posted).
The next day I went again and they had new prices posted….yep, they certainly had raised them..for example, a little cake donut was now $6! Crazy! So I looked up Rose’s donuts and found that Rose’s bakery is in Corona Del Mar, just a little over a mile north (a four minute drive) on PCH, so now I go there every morning. 😊 They have good coffee there, too. Now, I realize not everyone may want to get up and make the drive, and if you are only getting a couple of donuts, it might just be worth the money to get them at NCV for the convenience(you can get a 10% discount at the marketplace with your owner’s card, too), but I thought I’d just throw it out there is anyone wants to buy a lot of donuts and save some money, too. 😊

Happy travels!

Wow! $3 for a donut is crazy (to me). We go to our local King Soopers/ City Market (Kroger) and buy donuts occasionally, and they are about .60 each and so good. Too good. That's why I don't eat them.

Onsite food and beverage is such a ripoff. We rarely eat anything from onsite restaurants. We've had a couple good experiences, but more times than not the options are limited, mediocre and too expensive.

You likely fill up on the cellophane wrapped mini muffins you get before your sales presentation and are good for the day. :whooopie:

We were visiting family in North Dakota
The top donut house in Bismarck, ND Area is Bearscat
The average price of a donut is $2.50 each

Time to buy a donut maker. There are several different types. Driving trips, that donut maker can be in the trunk. :)

I'm sure it's long gone, but Rose Bakery used to accept the owner discount "grazie" card for 10% off. IMO it's really no better than any other donut shop or the supermarket bakery, but the breakfast burritos were good.

Lately the pickings at the sales presentations has been pretty slim. Most of the time there are no cellophane wrapped muffins. Just small bags of chips, coffee and water. Perhaps if they had a full spread buffet they might convince me to buy something...

I don't know, that Old Fashioned on the back left looks pretty good.
The chocolate old fashions are what I get! They are my favorites and are sooo good and better than any I have had elsewhere. They are $2.75 purchasing them directly from Rose’s…much less expensive than the NCV marketplace.

We live in Newport Coast and have found these to be the best for the money:

Mag's Donuts
1280 Bison Ave Unit B1
Newport Beach, CA 92660

Rose's Bakery was sold in 2022 and we don't feel it's as good now as it was under the prior ownership.

It's been awhile since I've seen any type of food at a presentation.

Same here. I get nothing offered at a presentation. Sheraton Steamboat didn't even have coffee or tea. It was not very hospitable. I did take a water from the cooler.

That is not good. Every presentation I went to in Mexico this year and last year came with a breakfast buffet and some even had alcohol (if that is your kind of thing) after the tour and when it was time to talk numbers.
Massanutten had lunch last year.

I have only been to Westin Lagunamar presentations in Mexico and what they offered was on par with what they offer in the US. Nothing much. As for experiences with US based timeshare companies, HGVC probably offered the best "spread". Westgate seemed like it would be good, but it was really just hot dogs with tortilla chips and plastic cheese. Apparently they offer breakfast but since we went later in the day they had turned over to lunch options. We didn't get anything except some fountain soda. It didn't look appealing. Marriott and Vistana in the USA is not much. Sometimes some celphane wrapped stuff and water. I don't think I've seen sodas offered in a long time. They don't want to cut into that marketing budget too much and I would rather take more points than better food and drinks.

Vacation Village in Orlando has very nice sandwiches … sometimes chic filet with chips and fountain soda fyi

Massanutten has a lovely lunch buffet
Chicken meatloaf mashed potatoes salad cheesecake chocolate cake etc
