I rate the original Alien Movie as one the scariest thrillers I have ever watched

The new Alien world TV show hits the airwaves on August 12

Early reviews say it is the best productions since the original

I don’t like to be scared, so…..
I'm with you. I've never seen the original movie, and I don't intend to see this one. Years ago, when the Great Movie Ride at the Studios in WDW included a scene from the original movie, I had to prepare myself as we approached that section so that I didn't jump and scream when the alien jumped out at you there.

I do not watch any standard horror movies like chainsaw massacres, stalkers, zombies, etc., etc.
None
Absolutely None
Never have, never will
I guess Aliens was OK because it happened somewhere far, far away
Alien: Earth may be too close to home to be comfortable
I will certainly check out the first episode

Alien was arguably the best "dirty space movie", the other being Outland. They took a suspense movie and set it in space. James Cameron used the same formula in Aliens only instead of a thriller, Aliens was an "army" film set in space.

The franchise lost me when they killed Newt, Bishop and Hicks in the next movie. Lazy writing.

It is the rare writer/producer/director that gets better with subsequent productions

Reacher and Jack Ryan are perfect examples in my opinion of each following season not as good as the prior season

I liked Terminal List (From Jack Carr novel) There is a new production coming out at the end of the month called Terminal List: Dark Wolf
We will see if it is as good or not

Lasted 30 minutes before bailing. Went back to watching the NBC show Survival Mode On Demand. The segments on the Maui fire and Fort Myers Beach hurricane were harrowing.
