We have a studio booked at the Westin Kanapali . We are trying to rebook now that we are within 60 days and they have the same studio but Kanapali North. Is it worth changing to save the points? Are they equally as nice?

I think WKORV-N is better because it has no parking lot views and the studios have a lanai.

For a studio, I vote North as well.

What view do you have and what view can you switch to?

Why would you be saving points? Do you have an ocean front unit now?

In Abound, north and south studios are not the same number of points.

That's crazy! More evidence Abound is just wrong.

But, it seems North is more expensive than South, so why is the OP trying to save points by moving to North?

I think OP is considering the 60-day discount -- forgetting that the cancelled reservation will result in Holding Account points.

Separately, it is insane that an OF studio reservation at WKORVN costs more in Abound points than OF studio at South (I agree that OV an IV should cost more at North because of the lanai).

That's Marriott monetizing the fact that the studio at North are more desirable as they have a balcony.

They did they same in 2010 when introducing the Destination Club. Different dates in the same season had different point requirements.

Always looking out for #1, themselves.

I would guess the logic is that the OF studio deluxe south units are actually on the side of the building.

The resorts share facilities and are adjacent to each other. Save the points, likely enjoy a better view and definitely enjoy the lanai. Book an extra day or two if you can using the points being saved.
