Booking grand luxxe riviera maya through HGV looks a better deal now? 2B suit requires 23040 points but it charges only one time resort fee of $150. if you exchange through SFX or RCI, the resort fee will jump to $350+ per day so a one week stay will cost you close to $3000 + your deposit week($2000 on average?) + no acess to the grand luxxe pool. if the cost per point is 0.1, it will be cheaper to book through HGV. is my understanding correct?

If the resort fee is only $150 via HGV -> SFX, then yes, an EXCELLENT deal
I just don't know if that's the case.
It is on the resort description page, I also checked with HGV call center to see there are other hidden fees and their answer is NO. I brought this up was because it was not recommended in old threads to spend so many HGV points for the exchange, but they did not mention how much resort fee it would be charged.

Definitely a great deal then, IMO. Especially considering that booking directly with SFX/RCI/II has the steep Vidanta-imposed resort fees.

No Grand Luxxe RM in RCI currently and only 1-bed Grand Luxxe Jungle RM in II as a getway cash price of $2300. So yes if you are able to book a 2-bed with HGVC points, that's a good and only available price from what I can find.

But curious can you book it (by calling?) and what dates are available?

I used grandn luxxe Nuevo Vallarta for pricing reference only, RM is not available on RCI. You can book it by calling, club member can book in 9 months window. elite member can book it at 12 months. Yesterday, there are availabilities of 1b suit in Nov and Dec. the inventory has to be pulled manually by call center so I didn’t check further date.

I see. so do you have to pay an RCI exchange fee of $299 above it?

Actually if you are talking about Grand Luxxe NV, the two-bed can be had as RCI extra vacation cash price of 299 + 2870 resort fee, so about 3200 ish, but many dates.

RCI doesn't have Grand Luxxe ever. They usual only have Mayan Palace or Grand Mayan only. For GL you need to book through Interval or SFX.
Grand Luxxe is listed in DEX but I don't know how availabilty is nor how much the fees would be.

Something may have changed with RCI. Look up Resort ID #DI51 in RCI. (that's an i after the D, not number 1)

Lots of available inventory for Grand Luxxe in NV for both 1BR and 2BR units.

The OP started this thread regarding Grand Luxxe @ RM. There is and has always been availability at RM (practically any day of the week) as I check it regularly since last year after staying at one through an RCI point exchange.
I don't know about the other locations. Are you referring to other locations?

Are you sure you are looking at Grand Luxxe @RM? There is only Grand Mayan @RM for exchange or getaways currently. If you want Grand Luxxe, what I see is Grand Luxxe @NV in RCI or 1-bed Grand Luxxe Jungle in II as getaways.

No, I was referring to RM but I don't have deposits right now in RCI (not since 2023) and don't see any exchanges only cash stays. If it is now available that's great.

This is from my RCI points account. It is available and has been since early last year when I started checking. The only time there were no availability was during the blackout while the new resort fee was being negotiated.
Mayan Palace, The Bliss, and Grand Mayan are also available.

Great info, it did not pop up then I searched grand luxxe, and returned a different resort ID. But when using F125, I’m able to pull it out.
This is resort fee info
Mandatory Fees
Mandatory resort fee is 1890.00 U.S. dollars, per room, per stay, for 1 Bedroom units. Only Credit Cards accepted.Mandatory resort fee is 3500.00 U.S. dollars, per room, per stay, for 1 Bedroom units. Only Credit Cards accepted.Mandatory usage fee is 10.00 U.S. dollars, per person, per stay, . Only Credit Cards accepted.

Confusing if $1890 or $3500 is for 1B, but either one is too expensive

Yeah RCI search is very annoyingly tricky. Good that "F125" works and I will try that.

$1890 is if you are going, $3500 is if you are not going (with guest certificate).

Just to report back that "F125" trick will bring up Grand Luxxe Jungle 1-bed in RM as WorldT said!!
Otherwise if you click down the path Mexico -> Cancun ... you can only find Grand Mayan. WTF?!

Another trick, try RB71,

Grand Luxxe at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta

I booked Grand Luxxe 2 bedroom 2 bath suite on DEX (I have HVC, formally DRI) for a single deeded week (Las Vegas) plus resort fee of $150. There are other small fees that don't come to that much more (taxes). There was a $179 exchange fee and $89 insurance (optional for the deposit if we cancelled). (Actually, I used two weeks to book two suites 2 bedroom 2 bath suites but I was quoting the one suite price).

We were not in Riviera Maya, but we picked the longer trip to Nuevo Vallarta because I thought my family would like that resort more. They loved it and were very impressed.
Our trip was July 4-11, this year. It was hot, but just a bit more than it was in the US NE.

The deal with DEX or HGV is real, I would highly recommend it over using RCI. We used II in the past to get Grand Luxxe, but those days are over with the now high resort fees.

Bonus. When we got there we refused the presentation, but we were put in GL 4 not GL 2 that we requested. Leaving, we were offered GL 3 third floor, facing the river and PV (above the first floor, planta baja, with vegetation view and mosquitos. And they made them villas instead of suites, plus breakfast for all 7 of us. My wife who won't do presentations relented. After breakfast, our guide said since we know the resort so well, instead of a model tour, let's all go on the gondola instead! End report, the talk was mild, no hard sell and we were out in an hour.

You should select Riviera Maya instead of Cancun. Vidanta is in Riviera Maya which is a different area from Cancun both geographically and in RCI.
I can also search by just typing in the name of the area in the search bar.
I am doing this on the mobile website not desktop.

thanks for sharing, it contains lots of info I am looking for. With so many bad reviews on HGV, I must skip the presentation! 🤣

Riviera Maya is under big Cancun area… it brings up Grand Mayan RM no problem…

What is your click sequence to bring up Grand Luxxe?

Can a resale studio HVC like Polo Towers exchange into this? I’m thinking of getting access to DEX. Not sure to get a HGVC Craig lodge or a cheap free HVC unit for this.

Have you considered Embarc? Relatively low maintenance fee plus gives you DEX, and II access

oh, any particular to recommand? heard some has free DEX (included) access. I think I just want a cheap trader, but enough to pull enough like Grand Luxxe and HGVC Hawaii/

Embarc is point based, no home resort priority. It is traded as premium resort in II and I heard it is even possible to pull Disney VC. This is something I am looking into as a supplement of my HGVC ownership. But I am also lack of information on how to setup your account once resale purchase is done. Maybe @cd5 can help answering it.
