Hi I was wondering if this happened to anyone and if there's anything I am supposed to do.

I retraded a 1BR with yesterday check-in at Marriott Aruba Surf Club for a 2BR with check-in today (actually arrived today) and when I checked in today at the front desk, the rep insisted I still had the 1BR reservation and that I needed to cancel. Has this happened to anyone and is there anything I am supposed to do? I suspect no one ended up using the 1BR that I gave up.

Call II? Usually Marriott will send you the confirmation number that you could add to Marriott.com (or iphone app) so you know it's in the system. but I would take the 1br first.

Sorry let me clarify. Front desk said I had both the 1BR and the 2BR. Can I just ignore the 1BR reservation?

If you are checked in to the 2-bed, you are safe / I would just tell front deck to cancel the 1-bed as they wish and you no longer need it.

Think it's Interval or Marriott's fault but you can do them a favor to cancel in Marriott app if you add the confirmation for the 1-bed. It's easy to do but honestly I never did that for a booking through II exchange so let us know what would happen if you cancal a reservation from II exchange in Marriott app.

I assume you swapped very close to check in day. If so, I would bet it will take care of itself as the cancellation moves through the II/Marriott/MVC systems.

Ok thanks. I tried cancelling from the app but I got an error message that I can’t cancel through the app. I’ll try telling the front desk to cancel it. Thanks!

Yes I swapped 2 days ago.

I have had the same problem where I added an interval exchange reservation on the Marriott bonvoy app and when I retraded the week the original reservation still shows up in the Marriott bonvoy app. That is a Marriott IT problem . On the interval side the retrade shows accurately but now I have 2 reservations showing on the Marriott Bonvoy app .it eventually falls off though but it’s annoying to keep seeing it listed .

It is up to II to notify Marriott that you no longer have the reservation. This can sometimes take a couple days. Then there is also a feed down from big mother Marriott reservation system to the individual resorts. So it can be several days before the resorts are actually updated. Ignore the 1BR, you are good to go in the 2BR.
