So you own/ paid for 5 and they arbitrarily take 2 away? How do they get to change the purchase contract....
Its as if you bought a 2 br at a resort and when it comes time to use it you get a 1 br....

So the flex change- does that mean flex change doesn’t start until the 30 day mark instead of 59 like today?

Thanks for the update
Where did you find the announcement?

30 days

Can anyone get to this info?

In addition, please note that the cancellation period for confirmations canceled more than 24 hours after the exchange is confirmed and at least 7 days prior to check-in, has been modified. Refer to the 2025 Buyers’ Guide on intervalworld.com for the new cancellation time periods

They refer you to the Buyers Guide for updates on several things including cancellations...it's buried on their website but I found it. Go to the bottom of the screen to the Legal Information link, then on the next page, click on Terms and Conditions 2025 in the first paragraph. Still reading through it...

The Refundable Getaway Rates is nice to see.

I was going to start a thread regarding Cash Rentals from II vs RCI. RCI at least provides a partial refund for cancellation where II gives none including when the resort makes changes that may impact your stay. As a result, I decided never to purchase a II Getaway months in advance since II gave me no options as the resort announced subsequent changes impacting my stay.

"In addition, please note that the cancellation period for confirmations canceled more than 24 hours after the exchange is confirmed and at least 7 days prior to check-in, has been modified. Refer to the 2025 Buyers’ Guide on intervalworld.com for the new cancellation time periods."

Here's the change I found under General Exchange Procedures regarding the modified rule for cancellations...this would apply to a situation where someone was not doing an immediate retrade but instead wanted to do a full cancellation and receive a placeholder deposit in its place, I'm guessing as the provisions regarding EPlus retrades still have the 60-day timeframe listed:

"(c) When a Member notifies II of their desire to cancel a Confirmation seven (7) days or more prior to the first date of occupancy of the Host Accommodations being canceled, the Member will be entitled to request substitute exchange accommodations, as long as the Member requests travel occurring no later than 12 months following the date on which the Member cancels said Confirmation for Host Accommodations . However, the time period in which the Member is entitled to request substitute exchange accommodations is limited, as follows:

(i) When a Member notifies II of their desire to cancel the Confirmation 31 days or more prior to the first date of occupancy of their Host Accommodations, the Member may request substitute exchange accommodations at any time from the date of cancellation up to 24 hours prior to the first date of occupancy of such substitute exchange accommodations .
(ii) When a Member notifies II of their desire to cancel the Confirmation from 30 to seven (7) days prior to the first date of occupancy of their Host Accommodations, the Member may request substitute exchange accommodations from limited travel destinations 30 days to 24 hours prior to the first date of occupancy of such substitute exchange accommodations .
(iii) II will retain the exchange fee paid initially to secure the canceled Confirmation"

So how I read it, the cancellation deadline to stay out of Flexchange is now 31 days before check in versus 60 days previously. Effectively this shifts FlexChange for this purpose only to 30 days before check in versus the current 59 days or less. It makes sense that they shorten this period if they are going to change the FlexChange period to 30 days later this summer (as the email reads). Eplus may remain at 60 days because that is an insurance of sorts that you pay for to be able to save your exchange fee so it has different terms and limitations.

I just got an email about these changes.... UGH, II is becoming a money grub

It's not just Interval. It seems that every business I deal with wants to dig deeper into my pocket.

I'm off topic, but I'm very frustrated with my Chase checking account. I only write a few checks per month, but after many years, I'm running out of checks and need to reorder. Checks were always free in the past. No more. Now it's $30 to order a pack, and if I understood, that's only 80 checks. Chase pays me about a nickel or dime a month in interest. In the words of Joe Biden, "C'mon, man!"

As a customer I'm a piñata. The businesses want to keep wacking me until all the money has fallen out of my pockets.

Ok, that sounds like a positive change, if you need to cancel your exchange you'll have a little more time.
However for those who are looking to take advantage of last minute deals (free upgrades, etc) this reduces your window.

Exactly! Give and take. I get the sense that they are trying to separate FlexChange out from its association with other features/deadlines like EPlus because right now we apply the 60-day rule to everything and call it FlexChange (or at least I do) and don't often think about the actual benefits of FlexChange like the upgrades with no charge.

Also as a WorldMark owner, I am able to make an instant exchange in Flexchange for a reduced 4,000 credit price regardless of unit size/TDI. Now it looks like they will likely have to cut that option down to 30 days when the formal Flexchange shift happens. WorldMark's integrated exchange company is RCI so they may never acknowledge this change in II...we'll see when the time comes ;)

Costco. Or many others. Never order from the bank, they're always the most expensive.

Or, don't use checks. It’s an outdated system, and almost every other country got rid of them decades ago.

Off topic yes. But sometimes you need to write an old fashioned check. Just
Used up a check book 25 checks lasting 11 years. Yes order from Costco.
