[2024] Marriott's Manor Club - Golf?

Exchangers do not get any free golf. Points based guests/owners get the same card as exchangers.
What do you mean? Exchangers don't get free golf but owners/guests get the same card as exchangers? If exchangers get the same card as owners, that sounds like free golf for exchangers.

Only Marriott's owners received the free rounds of golf.
Please call the resort for clarification.

When did this change? We were offered free golf as Abound exchangers in the fall of 2023.

It would seem as an Abound exchanger you are a Marriott owner.

Probably right. Many of the MVC resorts that offer the 'owner' benefits we've experienced meant 'owner at that resort' rather than Abound exchanger to get the benefit. For example, as a Napili owner we can get free valet parking at MOC.

Though now I wonder if Vistana owners count as Marriott owners for the purposes of free golf (assuming they exchange in using Abound Points rather than trading in through II).

We had access to free golf in both July and October of last year during an Interval exchange stay.

Did you exchnage in with a Marriott week?

Yes- so we're thinking this satisfies the "owner" requirement?
I would think so, but I am still not sure of any limitation. We seem to have the following scenarios. Not sure which get free golf and which don't.
  1. Manor Club owner staying on a home resort reservation.
  2. Manor Club owner exchanging back in to Manor Club through Interval International
  3. Manor Club owner exchanging back in to Manor Club through Abound
  4. Marriott owner exchanging in to Manor Club through Interval International
  5. Marriott owner exchanging in to Manor Club through Abound
  6. Non Marriott owner exchanging into Manor Club through Interval International
  7. Cash guest booked through Marriott.com

We are checking in this weekend and below is what the concierge sent. We are going on an II exchange, but own other Marriott weeks (not MFC) and they told me $25 cart fee.
Owner Perks (Free Rounds**)
Guest Studio Room: 2 rounds
One-Bedroom Villa: 4 rounds
Two-Bedroom: 6 rounds
**good for up to 2 rounds per day
Rental Guests (Golf Discount)
  • $55.00 BEFORE 12PM/ $45.00 AFTER 12PM.
  • $25.00 cart fee (per person. ex; two people sharing one cart= $50.00)
  • Courses to choose from: Blue Heron & Blackheath
  • Club Rentals (Owner's & Guests):
18 holes = $85.00
9 holes = $55.00

Thanks you, vmpt, for the clarification.

I did not. They said as Marriott owners we only the $25 cart fee for those 2 courses.

should have said "as owners" rather than as exchangers. Folks reserving with points are considered owners. My original post was sloppy. I should also have said non-Marriott exchangers.

1-5 get the free golf. 2 and 3 are duplicative with 1 and 5 respectively. Anyone else can pay to play. They used to reserve one of the three courses to members only and give one course to the Marriott folks in a rotation, but I belive that now the Marsh Hawk (red course) is for members only every day.

I just left the resort last week. I traded via II in a 1BR Sequel unit. I received a card for 6 rounds . ( I am not a MVC owner but am a Marriott Bonvoy member)

PS: As mentioned above , not a MVC owner , but showed my Bonvoy membership at check in.

I've stayed there paying cash and asked for the card. They gave it to me. I am an owner so I don't know if it was due to that or my Bonvoy status (Titanium).

We reserved five nights in a 1 bedroom in August using MVCD points and wondered if we would be offered “free” golf. Does anyone know how the free golf works for stays less than a full week? Just wondering…

We stayed for 2 nights on points as a stopover on the way to HHI a few years back, and were given golf tickets for 3 days as I recall.

Can we assume Marriott owners who purchase a Getaway through II are also eligible for the “free” golf?

Generally, the resort doesn't know the difference between an exchange or getaway booking.

Does the "free" golf apply for both Manor and Sequel? Does it matter if they are purchased as a resale?
