Anyone noticed these two trends:

1. RCI has created duplicate resort listings for booking short stays 2 to 6 nights?

2. In Las Vegas, Listings under 10k points are showing more of those short week stays and less 7 night stays, even when weeks inventory is present (I'm using the hold language to determine) and looking within 30 days (required for the 10k)?

In order for RCI to discount last calls they have to be within 30 days and on the weeks side have to have demand at something like 7 tpu's or lower. If RCI thinks it has more demand regardless of how close to check in it won't drop it to the lower points or make it available for last call. You see the partial weeks because they have lower demand.

Last call, but you're referencing TPU? Are you saying the inventory would have to be in last call and under 7 TPU to show up as less than 10k?

I am saying that Last call rentals and the reduction of points to 6500-10,000 rci points have similar rules. In addition to the # or days from check in they also have to drop below a particular demand threshold that rci uses tpu's on the weeks side to make those determination if it will get reduced. If it isn't below whatever threshold they have determined it won't get reduced.

I just looked through Vegas. Although all of the resorts at 6 tpu's and and lower appear as Last Call Rentals and about half of the ones list at 7 tpu's, It is only the inventory that is 4 and lower that is listed for 10,000 or less through rci points.

The program of reduced points within 30 days, I don't see it listed in the disclosure guide at all nor can I remember it ever being specifically spelled out in print. They are gutting it. There are 96 check in days of full weeks in Vegas in the next 30 days on the weeks side of things of those 55 are available as last calls $309-$379 plus tax rental fees all of the last calls are 7 tpu's and under and most are 6 and under. None of those are available for the 10,000 or under in rci points. They are reducing the points but it isn't an automatic reduction to 10,000 or fewer points.
